Hi there! My name is Giselle and I live in sunny Barbados - where it's ALWAYS swimsuit season...pressure much? :)

I joined SparkPeople in 2010 at age 25, looking to lose those last 10 lbs. Three years later I'm back - over those 3 years I maintained, and always stayed within 8 lbs of my weight at the time (highest 138lbs.) but I never hit my goal of 125.

I know now that it never worked because I never wanted it for ME. I was doing it to be 'good enough', to earn love. I know now that the only love that matters is the love from my Creator, which shows me how to love myself - UNCONDITIONALLY.

I started out life pretty normal-sized until about age 5. Was overweight from then until age 24 despite eating reasonably healthy and being active, swimming 3000+ meters 4 times a week and an hour of ballet twice a week. I loved ballet with all my heart but quit when I was 14 because the body image issues and low self esteem were just too much in a room full of mirrors and thin girls.

I'm 5' 4" tall. At my heaviest, I weighed 160 lbs (around 2007). I had a rough couple of years from March 2008, where a lot of financial responsibility fell on me. I kind of pushed everyone out of my life and felt like I had to do it all by myself. I hardly left the house if I didn't absolutely have to.

Out of that dark time came a blessing, because due to the stress I was under, I lost about 30lbs..something I had been trying to do for years. I guess I had started controlling my diet and fitness because it was the only thing in life I had control over, and I also felt like I needed to get tough so no one could hurt me again.

Since then, thanks to what I learned while studying natural therapies, I've managed to soften and reconnect with myself and those around me, and am making an effort to squeeze the juice out of every single day..I know I deserve joy..and I deserve love, most importantly from myself. To be the healthiest, most active and confident Me that I can be, I'm working my way to my goals.

My Goals:
To reach 125 lbs by September 2013. Also to live life to the fullest each & every day and to love myself on every step of the journey.

To compete in at least 2 5K runs this year.

My Program:
Drink 8 glasses of water daily

Eat at least 3 veggies and 2 fruits per day

Cardio (DVD workouts, yoga, treadmill, swimming) 4 x/week; strength (resistance & free weights) 4 x/week.

Personal Information:
28 year old with a passion for good, pure food from the Earth; clean, fresh sea breezes; the healing sun & ocean; good deeds and good people. I started this journey at 160lbs, of which I've dropped 30. Now I'm on a mission to reach 125 lbs in the next 2 months. Some call them vanity pounds, I call them sanity pounds,lol. I know how I want to look and feel, and I'm gonna work to get there because I deserve to feel amazing! I love God for the great things He continues to do in my life, and love & respect Mother Earth. I try to take a quiet moment with them both every day to stay grounded and balanced.
