I have been on a diet since I was 12. I finally found something that let me lose 45 lbs and I have been able to maintain for the past 9 months! This is amazing for me.

Pieces of the puzzle are finally fitting together.

I have many foods I have a bad reaction to so I must eliminate them from my diet maybe forever. I figured the next paragraph out by myself but I recently was introduced to Dr. Steven Gundry, MD who wrote the book The Plant Paradox about lectins in our foods and the damaging effects they have on my body. All of the food I gave up were Lectin foods which I discovered on my own. In reading the book I have found a few more so eliminating those as well. So far in in 1 week I have dropped over 4 lbs and I haven't seen my scale move in over a year of trying and not wavering at all. Very organic veggie high and remember you eat what your food ate. Any veggie with internal seeds is on the no no list. I highly recommend you check out his book and website, just google him. Good by pain, stiffness, and all of my health problems forever. By the way the food is delicious too.

This is what I found by trial and error. No gluten, cow (dairy or meat it seems), night shade veggies (potatoes, tomatoes, peppers and egg plant and goji berries). No processed sugar and white rice I keep to a minimum. No artificial sweeteners (except Stevia)

By doing this I feel a lot better and the weight is coming off. I have been following this for a year 1/4 and so far I have lost 40 lbs. The most in the past I ever lost in a year was 26 lbs. I lost this in 7 months but have plateaued for the last 14. It started to sneak up again at the end of summer and I realized that I had adopted some substitutes and stopped logging. For me logging and being accountable is key. I also was eating many foods containing lectins which was making my problems worse not better, not now. My husband is supporting me entirely and his health will get better in the process..

Yes I know The Guthrie well. Kudos to you & your family for your support of the dramatic arts. I dare say if more people discovered the joys of community theatre, they’d experience less drama in their every day lives and we’d ALL benefit! Win win!

Thanks for adding me as a friend. Have a great holiday weekend. Let me know if I can help you with anything along your journey to live a healthy life! emoticon

I loved the comment you left on my page. Believe me at 50, I never would have thought I would be able to do what I have done. So never say never!

The best way not to put back on the weight is to think of it as a life style change--not a diet. You are creating the new you! Never give up, and never go back to the old ways that let you gain the weight in the first place. emoticon

Thank you so much! I decided the best way to stay motivated was to do little, attainable goals. For the first 4 years on here, I had my ticker set at 199 and it just felt like it was never moving. Even at 213, it was a lot of ticker between my sweaty little smiley and the end lol. So when I recommitted in November, I changed it to percentage goals. 2 or 3% at a time. It's been going great! It really helps keep me focused.

And of course, me being me, I hit a milestone on the scale, then my body says NOPE, not yet, and bounces back up lol. But I won't give up! I'll just stock up on dramamine and enjoy the ride! lol

Have a great Sunday and good luck on your own journey!
