I finally made up my mind to lose weight and be healthy, for ME! Other times I have tried (unsuccessfully) for family, husband...and I'm doing it for them, too......but I'm going to be successful this year because it's what I want and what I've decided to accomplish. I am 100% determined. =)

My Goals:
My biggest goal is to feel good about myself when I look in the mirror. I have not loved my reflection for a long time. I want to stop abusing my body & health with overeating. Basically, my goals are to look good, feel good, and be more active than I ever have in my life.

My Program:
My problem is mostly that I am an emotional eater. I guess my biggest change so far is in my attitude. I finally found something inside me that makes me believe I can do this! I am eating very small portions of healthy food, leaving out bread, sweets, junk food & soda (the hardest thing in my book). I've been walking 2 miles a day for a week now. I have actually already lost 6 pounds for the first week! I have bought the Wii Fit and plan to begin that now. I give myself a pep talk every day, ask God to help me with my life changes, keep a journal of what I've eaten & keep a mental picture of what I will look like when I reach my goal. Last but not least, I don't eat anything after 5PM.

I live in South Charleston, WV. I'm the mother of a daughter who will be 20 in February and attends WVU and a son who will be 2 years old in April. My husband is my best friend! Any questions? Just ask!

    Greetings and welcome to the Spark!
    I saw that you added me as a Spark friend and I have added you as well. Looks like you are off to a great start this week! Just keeping taking one day at a time. Expect bad days and push through them. My motivations comes and goes but days that it is low I try to spend a little extra time on here looking for encouragement. Glad that you have decided to make some positive changes for YOURSELF! By the way, I live in WV too - up in Morgantown.
