Hi, (5/22/2011 UPDATE at bottom)

I am a SAHM of 3 little boys, ages9, 7, and 4. I started my journey of losing weight when my middle son was 2. I lost about 32 pounds and then I got pregnant with my youngest son. I gained it all back plus a lot more. I knew what it would take to lose it, but I didn't start trying again until my youngest was almost 9 months older and I wasn't breastfeeding full time. ( I was sure hoping that would magically help the weight fall off like it does for so many others..but my weight barely budged those 9 months). In January of 2006 I weighed in at 211.5 (only 2 1/2 pounds lost since the last time I had weighed in at doctors several months earlier).

It came off very slow and I had plenty of slip-ups the first half of the year. During the summer I had very little motivation and stayed in the low 190's. The lowest being 191.5 in July. Come September, I felt refreshed and ready to give it my all again. I started going back to aerobic classes 3x a week and watching what I ate and the weight slowly started coming off again. By January of 2007, I had lost 11 more pounds as was down to 180.5. I continued to struggle to drop an ounce, but I just kept going. By June I was at 171 and itched to get into the 160's. However that would end up taking a lot longer then I planned as we went on a 3 week vacation with our kids and I gained about 7 pounds. When we came back I got right back on track, but I felt like my body was punishing me for putting on those pounds. It didn't want to let go of those pound very easily! Finally the beginning of November I reached the 160's at 168.5 on Nov. 5th. It is now summer of 2008 and I have been stuck in the 160's since. The closest I got to the 150's was the week after I did the Danskin Triathlon in Austin, Tx. I weighed in on June 16th at 160.4. I was SO close! Then I gained with my cycle and a little out of control eating and boom I was up to 164. Today, June 30th, 2008, I am 161.4. Once again getting close to those 150's and I have lots of determination! My goal is 150 and I sure would love to see those last 11.4 pounds gone by the end of summer!

UPDATE: 2/28/09

Well here it is 2009 and I keep losing and gaining the same 3-4 pounds. It's very frustrating but I know that most of it has been because of my lack of willpower and committment. I am currently at 164.8 and would like to see 155 by the time I do the Danskin triathlon again June 7th. My body seems to be very happy where it is, so I know it's going to take me changing things up some and staying FOCUSED to achieve this goal. I know I CAN do it! I WILL do it!

UPDATE: 6/15/09

I did the Danskin triathlon for the 2nd year and had a great time! I didn't quite make my goal of 155, but got to 158.2 which is a number I haven't seen in over 10 years. Feels great!

UPDATE: 5/22/11

Wow how time flies! It's almost been 2 years since I last updated. I wish I was as fit as I was then. I would take 158.2 in a heartbeat. I am currently around 169-170 and am mad at myself for letting myself gain that much. I became a Scentsy Independent Consultant 2 years ago and this past year went back to work part time as a preschool teacher. Between that and taking care of 3 boys now ages 10, almost 9 and 6, I have made too many excuses not to exercise and eat right. Too busy..too tired...don't feel good....but I hate the way I feel. My summer clothes are too tight and I just don't feel as good as I did back when I was exercising and eating healthy and 10 pounds thinner. Today I am making a pact with myself to change the bad habits I have gotten myself into this past year and to get back on the road to being fit and healthy.

My Goals:

I didn't weigh myself today but have been arond 169-170. My ultimate goal has always been to get to around 150-155. I am taking it 5 pounds at a time though and I am aiming to weigh 165 by Monday June 13.

My Program:
Baby steps to get back into the swing of things. I will start going to Zumba class again when school lets out. Walking and interval training, biking, swimming and any activity that will get me moving!
