There's really no secret to it is there? lol

We all know what to do, it's just the doing that creates the issues. ;-)

I really appreciate the support I've gotten from my Spark Friends over the years, so now it's my turn to help and support in any way I can as we continue this journey together.

Fitness Minutes: 21,292

My Goals:
I've yo-yo'd for years now and so over the emotional roller coaster that goes along with that.

I've learned a lot of lessons over the years and I now know that moderation is the key. No more crazy fad diets, excessive exercise or anything unhealthy.

My goal this year is to be kind to myself and slowly but steadily get to my goal weight of 140-145 lbs. I'm 5'5" - I think that's just the right weight range to be fit and healthy but not skinny which is what I plan to be within the next year so that by the time I'm 60 yrs old, I can travel and explore without having to sit anything out because I'm not fit enough to do it.


My Program:
Being kind to myself, but not making excuses either!

Getting some sort of exercise in every day but Sunday, my day of rest.

Walking, strength training, body weight exercises, dancing, yoga and hopefully some swimming if I can find a good place, will be a part of my life from now on.

Eating delicious and nutritious food most of the time with a treat every now and then being careful to track even when I get off track. lol

Keeping an eye on the scale but not beating myself up if I don't like what I see.

This is a journey with all of the twists and turns that entails.

I'm ready!

Other Information:
Writer, lover of books, movies, stories of all sorts, but especially enjoy reading and writing historical fiction, science fiction and fantasy.

Renaissance Faires fascinate me. Who doesn't love a good joust? Horses and knights in shining armor all at once! Sigh.

    I am 5'1.5" short, lol. My original goal was 175, then 165 - then I just kept going. My sister told me not to go for a number - to allow my body to tell me when I was there. Great advice!

    Today you are where I was when I started. Your first goal is 145 - great goal! When you reach it, see how you feel. If you feel great, stay there.

    After a while if you feel you want to go lower, take it 5 lbs at a time until you reach the point where you either must eat that amount of calories or your body says enough. Regardless of what we weigh, we still have to learn how to maintain the weight. This is the number of calories you can eat without gaining.

    For me it is 1400 calories daily. So, I try to get approx 400 calories burned daily to give me a few extras in my life!

    I will be here for the rest of my life - if you need me, just holler!

    Thanks for the nice things you said about my painting. The reason it is on my background right now is that I told my DH I wanted painting supplies so I could try my hand at acrylic painting. That was for my birthday in October 2011. He got me all kinds of things, and the picture you see if the first one that I actually finished. I started out with 4 individual flowers, but the one on display was one I finished and framed. I now have another I'm working on, and this is a good way to receive some comments.

    Looking forward to getting better acquainted.

    I'm glad you liked my photos. I waited over 20 years for this log house and we finally moved in in Dec. 2004. It was definitely worth the wait (as all good things are...) I'm glad you're finding your way around the Spark site and that you found the Nesters team. I'm enjoying getting to know you :D
