Today is a new day...it is now September of 2019. Since I last updated in here, I have actually lost 136 pounds mostly on my own. But I have hit my first plateau and not only that, but, I have gained 5 pounds. I don't like that! I have worked really hard with portion control and really paying attention to the sizes and amounts of food I eat at a time. I have given up most all sodas and junk food, but you can believe that if a craving hits. I give into it before it becomes a full binge...I think my PCP is getting ready to wean me off some of my meds because of the weight loss and the changes that has happened with my new lifestyle so far. I look forward to the times I get to spend with my family now. I am more able to do things and to enjoy the company of my family. I started my journey in the middle of May of 2017. I still; have just a little bit over 100 pounds to go, but I know that with the amount of weight I have already lost, the rest is going to come off too. My hardest part is that I want instant results. I don't want to remember that it didn't get put on overnight, so it isn't going to fall off over night. If it did that, there wouldn't be nearly as many overweight/undertall people walking around!

Last time before today that I was here it was August of 2015. I have gained more weight, added more problems to my health issues, and given myself a couple of scares and well needed and well placed kick in the butts, and here I am again. I started being serious with loosing weight a couple of months ago, so that would be about the middle to the end of May of 2017 and so far I have lost 23 pounds on my own. I have come to the conclusion that I need more help and encouragement then I can give to myself, so I am back for try number 4 or maybe it is 5 now. I am not sure, but I am back. I have two grand children that mean the world to me and I want to be able to play with them and do things with them like I remember my grandmother doing with my cousins and me. I have 3 grown kids that I want to be around for still and i still have my mother and I don't want my medical scares to become realities and have her to have to bury me.

My Goals:
I want to get healthy so that I have the energy and the stamina to play with my grand kids.
I want to reduce my health risks and improve the quality of my life.
I want to be able to travel and "run" the roads like my mother does, when I get to be her age!

My Program:
I am trying to find exercises that I can do with my osteoarthritis in my knees, and I am changing my eating habits slowly. I am cutting out most of my sodas and sugars. I have cut out the sodas and sugars, but I haven't yet started exercising. I still need to find on that I can do with my aliments am improve the physical abilities that I have and then I can maybe teach Zoey Faith and Eric Scott the things I have learned.

Personal Information:
My name is Cami. I have three wonderful kids and a granddaughter and a grand son. I have been overweight as long as I can remember, but it has gotten to be the worse it has ever been in the beginning of 2017. It is now Sept of 2019, and I am 136 pounds lighter then when I wrote that blog. I still only have the 2 grands, but I have 3 kids. My son and his wife live in Maine, my first daughter, her spouse and two kids live in PA, and my youngest has just recently retired from the service and she currently lives in AZ, where she is attending school and in her spare time, she tries to keep my mother in line...

Other Information:
I like playing on my computer, reading, spending as much time as possible with friends and family, and laughing! Laughing is the greatest medicine in the world I believe. It cheers you up all the way to your soul, it burns calories if you give out a good belly laugh, and it feels good to share your laughter and have someone else catch it and start laughing with you!

emoticon Thanks for the friend add. As I read your SparkPage bio, I could have written the part about health and joint issues. I’m here to tell you that you can make it better. I had/have those same issues. However, I found so many useful things here at SparkPeople that has made my journey so much easier and doable. You will too. Just remember, slow and steady WILL win our race. Taking it one step, one day, one pound at a time will get us to goal. See you on the boards. emoticon emoticon
