The old girl coming into the Olympic Stadium in Athens, Greece. Yipee!

My new running buddy I met while running the London marathon (he ran for Diabetes UK)

Oh my gosh! Where is my life going? My last update I was 56 and now I am nearly 63 ~ Same friggin weight though...over weight. My feet & legs have gone from bad to worst but I am still out there doing my old lady jog LOL Just got back from China and yes, it was a difficult course :( Still trying to do one marathon a year and holding my own. I am about ready to retire from retirement though! I actually retired at 55 but spend all but my sleeping hours fund raising for Team Diabetes or Sick Kids! Still have beautiful rescue fur babies only 2 different ones now. I will try to do better and keep this updated a little more frequently. Maybe once a year LOL

My Goals:
I would really like to see 160 - 165. That would put my BMI at the acceptable range.

My Program:
The biggest weight loss came from weight training & diet in the beginning. When I needed to up that energy to get off the plateau I was on, I started running. I went to night school and took the Personal Trainer and Nutrition & Wellness Specialist courses so that I could educate myself.

Personal Information:
My 30 year marriage ended 6 years ago. To get out of that bad place I was in, I started to run. While I dislike running, I hate what diabetics have to go through every day so I started to train for a marathon, running with Team Diabetes. I saw first hand what the disease did to my best friend, my Mom, when it took her life. I run as a tribute to her. My marriage ended and I got over it but not a day goes by that I don't miss my Mom. London, England will be my 5th marathon. I think I am going to try a half. I really dislike running (did I say that already?.) I have heart disease and asthma so I struggle with the running. My goal was to run 5 in 5 years and raise $50,000. I am happy to say, I have met all those goals!

Other Information:
While I do own a TV, I am not a TV watcher but I really like movies and reading. I share my life with a Pyrennes/Husky cross, Tundra and a Rottie, Pheonix. Needless to say, I spend a lot of time going for walks. Sadly both these beauties have passed and my broken heart was put on hold with JJ & Casper both from Great Pyr rescue.

Thanks for your comment on my blog... yup, the hair will grow back... I'm a nine year survivor of ovarian cancer, did the chemo, lost my hair, wore lots and lots of hats and scarves (never did the wig thing).... and today was my first chemo for stage I breast cancer after having a mastectomy a month ago.... so at least having had chemo before, I know what to expect in the months ahead.

Sparks People have been very supportive... that's what I love about this site!

Thanks for commenting on my pic. It was from a month ago when I did a half marathon at Shiprock NM. Now I did most of it walking but am working up to where I will be able to run it by next year. In the meantime working on 5k's. But I did the half marathon in 3 hours 6 minutes so I was happy with that time for mostly walking 13.1 miles!
