Hi! I live in the Caribbean. Have lived here for the past 27 years but am originally from Canada. I married smart! :) I am a retired teacher. I have stopped my volunteer work to take care of me. I always take care of others so have decided to put me first. I have been a yo- yo dieter for what seems forever but through the Spark I have learned consistency is the way.
My husband and I love to travel . I have been working really hard on this journey and have had some success. There have been bumps along the way with health issues but like everyone else we get through them. I am not going to let our travels set me back. I plan to do a lot of walking and yes they DO have gyms on ships. No excuses!! Want to get it done this time!

My Goals:
My goal is to get healthy by eating right and working out with consistency. Drinking water and getting in my servings of fruit and veggies.

To build up my strength and stamina through exercise.

My Program:
Am not able to exercise at all. Hoping this will change soon. Will have to start out slow when I get the go ahead from the Dr.

Personal Information:
My name is Irma. I live in the Turks & Caicos Islands with my husband of 31 years. We have one daughter living in Canada. We LOVE to travel!!! But that's not so good for the plan. Oh well life is to short to just let it pass on by.

Other Information:
Enjoy reading and am always on the computer!. A friend introduced me to Nicholas Sparks. Also love to travel! Husband and I are cruisers.

Sorry you have struggled to join a SW club online, well you are VERY WELCOME here with the Slimming World online on Spark People team..I know the programme can be a bit complicated but it REALLY DOES WORK so feel free to ask questions and if we can be of any help we will try!

    Sorry to hear about your back. I know how you feel. I am plodding on although I missed my goal for my birthday. It was unrealistic but still I wanted it. I get sidetracked alot but I'm maintaining for now. Loosing a couple of pounds here and there. You will get there. You have no idea how much you inspire me just being you. I miss some key people here because I'm on but not fully into what is going on. Just know you are thought of and wished the best.

    Hey, TCIGIRL, I was glad to chime in with my opinion. Ya know, no one needs to be model-thin. But why would a doctor say remain obese with all the research done about the health issues around obesity? Even 5-10% lost of your current weight can improve your over-all health. My doctor tried saying, "It is imperative that you lose weight." Ok, doc. Let's see if issuing Imperious Orders will somehow magically motivate me. Sigh. Ooops. I'm venting about my doc again1 Hang in there and be good to your whole self! emoticon
