March 11 2019, I am 39 (how did that happen?). At thie beginning if this year I resolved, as usual, to lose weight. My weight had fluctuated between 175-190 since the birth of my daughter in August 2016. A lot has changed in these 2.5 years and I find myself in a place where I am ready to commit to my weight loss desires again.

A few major milestones
1. 175 - Obese BMI for my height (5'4") and lowest weight in 2.5 years! (such a mental hurdle)
2. 162 - approximate weight pre-pregnancy
3. 145 - Overweight BMI for my height
4. 133 - Lowest weight ever seen on the scale last time I lost
5. 127-130 - TARGET WEIGHT

So far in 2019 I have achieved goal number 1!

Minor milestone imminent - scale says 170.0 on 3.11.19! So close to the 160s!

Below is something I wrote a number of years ago, when I was much closer to my goal the first time around. It has a lot of history in it. And turns out I DO need to go as low as 130 (blah).

------
I'm on the last 10 ( or 20, though I hope not) pounds of a lengthy weight loss. I want it gone, now. Well, as soon as possible, anyway.

I've been overweight my whole life pretty much, since age 5 or before. I am currently at my lowest weight EVER in high school, which I reached and stayed at for oh, two weeks before going back to 190 where I started, and then some. For many years I weighed ~240, occasionally losing 15-20 pounds only to gain them back, and peaked Jan 1 2008 at 255. I lost a bit of that and hovered at 243 for a while, until a busy schedule dropped me, unnoticed, to 238. A friend, DID notice, and somehow I was able after that to start and continue a weight loss plan.

Now I'm down to 148. I'm borderline overweight. I have an obnoxious apple body type and my boobs are too big for cute clothes, even though the rest of me has shrunk enough to fit some. I've been shooting for 140 since I got serious, and I sure hope that I'm satisfied when I get there, but it seems I have a smaller fame and the aforementioned apple shape, and my need to go as low as 130 (NO PLEASE NO).

I do aerobics on a regular basis, have resumed swimming finally, and have to start incorporate some more formal strength training in my workouts, as I believe that at this pint that will be the turning pint for my physique, rather than just cardio.

My Goals:
Ultimate weight goal is around 130 pounds, satisfied with my appearance. I was darn close at 133 pounds. So I don't think it will be any different this time around.

My Program:
2019
Current program is sans bodycombat (boohoo) but includes Step aerobics 1x/week, tabata 1x/week, and general cardio ideally 3 other days a week, but it can be as much as every day since walking is general cardio. In the winter I have been going to the gym ~5 days total in the week, using the treadmill on the non-class days and sometimes using an exercise bike at home.

As the weather improves, this will likely become gym 2x/week for classes and as much outdoor walking as I can achieve.

I will likely try to pick up jogging again this summer too. Last summer (~180) I tried a bit but my knees just couldn't take it. I wasn't exercising as much as I am now though and I think I will be fine. Also, I'm at a lower weight and as I lose that will only help. I don't particularly enjoy running, but I just completely hate it either, and running occasionally will replace the indoor treadmill workouts I won't be arssed to do when the weather is nice.

The old plan. I haven't really cha

Personal Information:
Born and raised in a Boston suburb, and still living and working here.

Other Information:
I love knitting. It is my #1 hobby. 2018 (and maybe 2019?) was the year of the sweater. I hate being cold in the winter and didn't have enough wool sweaters to wear throughout the week. I have rectified that problem.

OLD STUFF BELOW! Though I want to get back to some of it.

I love making costumes and crafty stuff! I sew for cosplay, SCA medieval reenactment, gothic lolita fashion and sometimes other stuff. I make jewelry with beads when I've got time. I love anime though I don't much much these days, and jpop, singing along in the car, and food. FOOD. I loves it. And cooking, now that I have my own kitchen, YAY!

Thank You, oh brilliant one, for the pumpkin snack idea! You've saved me a lot of grief in the late afternoons, when the binging hour strikes. Now I have a quarter cup of pumpkin puree, jazzed up with a little spray "butter" and cinnamon sugar, nuke for a minute and viola! For about 30 calories I have a warmy, tasty, crave-busting late afternoon snack that won't derail my day.

    Thanks again!

I totally understand - I'm not offended in the least! I myself was having a horrific day so on those grounds alone the words "shut up" (along with way too much chocolate intake) just resonated with me in a less than great way.....

Not to worry - it's all good.....
