I said I'll be happy when I lose the weight. I made my goal. What I found out was I was still me. I wasn't tired anymore. I didn't jiggle when I walked. I didn't feel good about myself. So, I exercised even more. I said I'll be happy because I exercise. I didn't feel good about myself. I exercised more. I exercised three times a day for two hours. I didn't feel good about myself. I didn't take care of myself. I over did it. I hurt my body. I gained the weight back because I was injured so often. I started over. I looked at all my talents. I liked that. I saw that I had a lot of friends who told me I was special. I liked that. A man who I went to a party with told me I was beautiful. That felt good. I looked in the mirror. I told myself I was pretty. One day I believed it. I was pretty. I behaved pretty. I dressed pretty. I walked knowing I was pretty. Being pretty felt sexy. I looked in the mirror. I was sexy. Wow! I didn't see that coming. I looked in the mirror. I was still sexy. I am ready now. I am going to lose weight because I like the lifestyle that causes my weight loss. I am going to get fit because I love to dance and go for walks. I am going to eat a healthy diet because fresh food tastes better. I became who I wanted to be first. A different start will make all the difference. The mirror in your mind is more accurate than the mirror on the wall. Patience, Balance, & Moderation.

My mother is a belly dancer and was my first teacher. I am a Turkish dancer. After moving to Salt Lake City, I joined an Egyptian Cabaret troupe.

I can walk w/o the aid of crutches or a cane.

I take care of myself w/o a home health aide.

I can take a bubble bath in my bath tub.

I can tie my shoes again.

I can touch the floor when I bend over.

I can dance again.

I can perform again.

I can walk for any distance that I choose to.

I can go hiking again.

I can run for 500 yards.

I can climb stairs again.
