Hi fellow sparkers! I have been on this weight loss journey for quite some time now. In December of 07, I had my son and was topping the scale at 270+ pounds the day that he was born. He's my 3rd child. Before I was ever pregnant the first time, I was about 145 pounds. Big difference! I decided while I was pregnant the third time that after I had him, I would change my life. By June of 2009 with a lot of hard work, determination, calorie counting, tears, endless amounts of time on the elliptical, and setbacks, I had worked my way down to 162 pounds. There was no quick fix for me. I tried everything under the sun as far as get skinny quick methods go. I am proud to say that when I finally got the picture that there was nothing I could do about being overweight besides working hard, I did just that. No quick fixes for me, just sweat and eating right. And that seriously is the key. Like an article I read on here one time, success is literally at our fingertips. We don't need desparate measures to be happy and healthy. I am proof of that!

Of course... I have had my number of setbacks. I have gained some weight back, gotten off course.....way off course.... but I have never given up. I owe it to myself to get healthy and do it the right way.

My Goals:
Short Term~~~
Exercise at least 10 minutes every single day.

Drink more water.

Mid Term~~
See the 160s on the scale

Long Term~~
Reach a healthy BMI which will happen at around 159 pounds.

Overall weight goal, 145... unless I feel like I am at a good weight before then.

Walk the 5K in October in less than 45 minutes.

My Program:
My program is to work out as much as I can. I usually try for at least 30 minutes a day 5 days a week. Most of the time, I am getting cardio in on the elliptical. Sometimes I may use dvds, but the elliptical works best for me.

I count calories and am determined to still be able to eat the foods that I love... just in moderation and within my calorie range.
