Hi, I'm 5'3" and at a starting weight of 187. It's time for me to break out of my mold; get away from my own status quo, and blossom into awesome. I want to cut back some indulgences in order to gain some "skinny people" options. Did you ever notice all the cutest Boutiques are squeezed into pocket sized rooms? I want to go in those shops without fear of knocking over the racks. I deserve to browse cute wares in tiny rooms. I started sparkpeople on January 1st 2009 Start weight Jan 1, 09: 187 Secret weigh in will be revealed March 11th: 169 Secret weigh in will be revealed May 15th: 157 re-gained because sick June 11th: 160 Re-start weight August 20th '09: 166 Current weight October 11th: 152 Next Goal 145 by Oct 31st I made it: 145 New Year! Jan 2010 1st: 133 Got sick again Feb 2010 10th: 129 re-gained because sick April 22nd: 140 Re-start weight Aug 1st '10: 155 Re-start weight Nov 11th '10: 180 Re-start weight Jan 25th '11: 187 Re-start weight April 6th'11: 200 Re-start weight June 17th'11: 210 Re-start weight Aug 1st'11: 204 Re-start weight Dec 1st'11: 207 Re-start weight April 28th '12: 213 Re-start weight Aug 28th '12: 213 If I keep re-starting it's gotta stick sometime... right? I've gained 80 pounds in a year and a half! It was a bad year :( But I've done it before and I'll do it again! I've got my dry erase board marked off with 366 (leap year) blocks, my fluted vase awaiting either a black or clear bead depending on my success for the day, and a two month chart to track exercise. I'm peeling grapefruit as we speak. I will succeed! God I miss crossing my legs. I want to wear my heels again without fear of breaking an ankle. I'm going to start trying to get pregnant in January 2013 (my degree will be finished) and I want to be at my healthiest and strongest when I begin that journey. Aug 28th Update: I have 4 months to take off some of this weight. I've begun juicing in the hopes of quick weight lose. If you've watched the movie "Fat, Sick and nearly dead," you know the participants lost around 80 lbs in 60 days. I hope to walk an hour a day at two intervals to maximize the weight lose. We shall see. Watch my progress on the weight listings above. Welp, it's December 1st 2013. I've just given birth to a beautiful baby boy named Charles Frank. While I was pregnant I never had an inclination to binge once. The day after he was born the hunger took over again. I thought the respite from the desire to eat incessantly was assuaged because I was so happy to have a baby. But the happiness didn't subside but the hunger came back. That's what gave me the clue it might be hormonal. So with that in mind I go forward. The juice fast I mentioned in my previous post was to expensive to stick with at the level I had intended. One episode with what I thought was a reasonable size piece of raw ginger went especially awry. But I honed my tastes and found a lot of really good recipes in the process! In going to use that knowledge as I move forward in my weight lose journey. I'm 214 lbs and I'd like to get back down to 129lbs. That's 85 lbs to lose :D December '13 ---- 214lbs Just had twin boys in May. Three under two years old plus a hospitalization. Tough summer. My body has changed quite a bit with carrying the twins and approaching menopause at 40. "Wearing the weight well" isn't an option anymore. She sees long range objectives. Lasting happiness comes not from indulgences driven by current sensations but from the achievement of ultimate goals.

Walking... Swimming...
getting through those moments of craving by having rescue habits to fall back on: Small snack to stave off real hunger, Get away from the temptation... get out of the house! Put off procrastinating (often the source of my binging) Track 3 favorite things for the day and post monthly gratitude list in order to keep bitterness at bay (another source of binging)

    You are HILARIOUS! I gained 35 pounds in a half a year so I'm pretty sure that puts us in the same boat (God I hope it's not a tiny canoe) I felt thin before too, but was never there long enough to really enjoy it. Let do it, one peeled grapefruit or pineapple (I live in Hawaii) at a time. Good luck!
