Hi, my name is Melissa. Just a brief story about me. I smoked from age 13 to 18. Quit when I was 18, married at 19, started to slowly gain weight from 120 up to 150, had first child at age 23, gained another 10 lbs. Had second child a couple of years later, gained another 10. XL no longer fit me. I panicked. I started a diet haphazardly, within 2 years I was at 130 lbs. Started smoking again, within another year, I was back down to 120. That was around 2001. As of June 2007 I was still smoking, under a lot of stress, poor diet, and keeping my weight around 130 lbs. I had no fitness plan. Just stayed active. Then my husband had a heart attack at age 39. Big eye opener. October 2007, I quit smoking! Yay! I joined a gym! Yay! But I do not have a regular routine yet and I do not go frequently enough. I started trying to change my diet. This is the hardest part. I just spent years living off of energy drinks and sodas. Having quit smoking, the weight rushed back. I now weigh 150 and holding. I hate all of my clothes. I don't like to look at myself. I am depressed. I still live with too much stress. I have 3 kids ages 2 to 11. I just started a business that lets me work from home (sitting at a computer).

My Goals:
My main goal is to make long lasting healthy changes that hopefully the children will learn from as well. Smaller, more specific goals, to regulate depression and moods. Become more toned and muscular. Have more energy. To lose 20 lbs originally. To feel better about myself. To remain smoke free. To become more physically active through exercise and activities.

My Program:
I don't have much of a program yet, kind of lost with a big "to do" list. I am trying to eat healthier. Cook more, eat out less. Trying to cook healthier. I also need to develop a regular exercise routine.

Personal Information:
I am originally from eastern NC, spent a few years in PA and now a few in GA. You can reach me at skantechtech@yahoo.com if you wish to contact me.

Hello, I am so happy to see that you found your way here to Spark. This is such a wonderfully supportive community and I hope that you jump right in and learn to use the tools here. There is everything you need here to change your lifestyle and head on to better health, as well as making some really wonderful friends along the way.. Your page is just great and I wish you much success in your journey here. One thing that helps me is keeping my goals very small.. and, logging all my food in the nutrition log. I started out with 5 lb goals and keep my weigh tracker to reflect those goals.. I see you have signed up for a depression team. We have a smaller team that you can find on my page and we would love to have you join us there too. Have a nice day, debbie
