Here it is the end of 2017, this year brought three health diagnoses (Diabetes Type 2, Fatty Liver and Sleep Apnea).

I have been trying to lose this weight it seems like every year for the last 20 years, the problem is that I let everything else get in the way (work, family, various excuses and being busy). I neglect myself in the process.

To me this is the end of running my life into the ground. I lost my grandmother to a diabetes coma, my friend lost her toes to diabetes. Untreated Sleep Apnea can kill you and so can Diabetes.

It is a wake up call and this time I cannot turn away from it. I can no longer put myself last anymore.


About Me:

Here is a little about me, I am a 53 year old woman who has went through some major life changes. I have been through a lifetime of abuse, I have been through a major job loss, divorce after 24 years, I have four kids, they have all moved out now.

** Update I have since remarried and my kids are all moved out.

I am in a flux on trying to find out who I am and start caring about me for once in what seems to be like forever, since I have always been looking after everyone else and neglected my own needs and wants for so many years. Like the banner above, I feel like I need to find out who I am now at this stage of my life and what will make me truly happy.

Found a full time job, it is a very stressful job, but I do it with a smile on my face. I work almost 12-15 hours a day including some weekends and an hour commute.

I am looking for support friends that I can encourage and they can encourage me also. I am a super nice person and very approachable, I talk as well as listen.

One of the things that brought me here a long time ago (it was the same day I joined) was I was shopping at the mall, and I had a flashback, of when I was in great shape and how I could wear the cutest clothes.

Okay that is enough for now ... gotta go do my Sparkpeople Tracking :)

My Goals:
Primary Goal:
(1) Get my medical issues under control (Diabetes and Sleep Apnea)
(2) To start feeling and looking better.


Goal #1: Get under 200 lbs.
Goal #2: Get to my goal weight of 145.
Goal #3: Eventually wear a single digit size clothes.
Goal #4: Have a Normal BMI (for my height it is 154 lbs.)

Other Goals (When reached I will put reached next to it)

Get out of the 240s
Get out of the 230s
Get out of the 220s
Get out of the 210s
Get under 200 lbs
Get out of the 190s
Get out of the 180s
Get out of the 170s
Get out of the 160s
Get out of the 150s

** When I get under 200 lbs I am going to do a dramatic haircolor perhaps blonde or light brown
** I will donate clothes that no longer fit me, for I no longer want to go back to that weight.


My Program:
(1) No real set program yet, just watch what I eat and exercise more.
(2) Start keeping track of my exercise and eating habits.
(3) Start drinking as close to 8 glasses of water a day as I can
(4) Take my vitamins daily
(5)Try to be happier and more energized with my life.

(4) My hobbies are anything computer related (yes I am obsessed and a hardcore g33kgirl), photography, digital photo manipulation and writing visual poetry.
