I am coming up on my first year on Sparkpeople and re-evaluating my goals. Last year it was drinking enough water, losing weight, and less salt. I did OK except no real weight loss. No gain either. I still would love to lose the weight, but it is not my main concern. I really want to make sure I eat healthy foods and get some kind of excercise each day. Even if it's just walking the dog or yard work. I have watched the people I love most really struggling with major health issues this year. Some is genetics, but a lot involves life choices. I want to make sure I'm making the right ones. I want to feel just as good or better in 10 years as I do now.

6/14 - Update. First the positive. I have been doing a great job drinking enough water and eating tons of fruits and veggies. I also really expanded my garden this year and it's doing great. The downside is that I still have not really lost any weight. I know that even though I mostly eat healthy I need to get in control of my portions and snacking. I also need to bump up my workout intensity and strength training before I really see any significant weight loss. Time for updated goals and better accountability. I think where I need to start is by adding spark friends and getting on some of the message boards. I tend to be introverted, but really need to put my self out there for support and accountablility.

**Eat 5-6 servings of fruits and vegtables each day

**Expand my garden in the spring so I can provide as many of my own vegtables and herbs as possible.
