On October 5th of 1991 I had a GASTRIC BY-PASS! This was a very, very rough surgery! I lost my spleen, I had a collapsed lung, I was in ICU 3 days on a vent, and 6 more days in the hospital. I have had Abdominal Hernia Surgery, Gallblader Surgery, Pelvic Organ Prolapse Surgery & Pannelectomy Surgery. (cutting off fat), all since my by-pass. This was not a piece of cake. THINK SERIOUSLY before you take this step. You have to change your eating habits, most importantly stop eating when you start feeling full, do not take that last bite, the last thing that you want to do is stretch out your stomach. In the hospital I weighed 251# I now weigh 117# TOTAL WEIGHT LOSS 134# (I had no support group after my gastric by-pass) Everything I learned was from the internet, then I joined Weight Watchers in February 2006, this helped me to eat healthier. I knew what to do, but having a support group with meetings every week helped me. I was looking up a program on the internet where I could enter my food, then I came across the SPARK website May 7,2008. I love this website, I have learned so much. Everyday, I learn something new. Did you know that you have to take alot of Vitamins daily. Your stomach is much smaller now, When you eat food the nutrients just pass thru. You need supplements in your diet. THIS IS A MUST IF YOU WANT TO STAY ALIVE & BE HEALTHIER.

To maintain my weight. Learn something new daily.! Hopefully, meet some new friends in my area, Madisonville, TN. I also live in Angola, IN most of the summer. and have Family in Toledo, Ohio, and Yipsilanti, MI. Where I visit often.

I AM ORIGINALLY FROM TOLEDO, OHIO. I GRADUATED FROM CCHS IN 1961. I HAVE 3 GROWN CHILDREN, AND 3 GRANDCHILDREN. WE NOW LIVE IN MADISONVILLE, TN. WE MOVED HERE IN 1995. WE ALSO HAVE OUR 2ND HOME IN ANGOLA, INDIANA, ON CROOKED LAKE, A MERE 530 MILES FROM TN. I SPEND MOST OF MY SUMMER AT THE LAKE. ALLMY FAMILY LIVES UP NORTH.
