Hi Everyone!

My name is Tim and on September 30th, as I write this, I am 386.5 pounds. I wasn't always this big. Back in 2011 I was probably in the best shape of my life. Working out 4 times a week, and swimming 80 laps twice a week. For over a year, I was feeling great, getting back into sports, coaching hockey and loving life.

Then in 2014, my life came crashing down around me. My wife at the time and myself decided to separate and get a divorce. House sold, we split, and I had custody of my daughter. 10 years of marriage, a partnership, gone. I never realized at the time how much self-reflection I would do in the next few years. But for the first 2 years, I decided to live a self-destructive lifestyle of terrible eating, alcohol (lots of it), and sitting around feeling sorry for myself. Constantly resorting to food or booze for comfort. Before I knew it, I was close to 400 lbs.

In 2017, I started going back to the gym, and within a few months, was 45 lbs lighter, and feeling great. I had my personal life back on track as well! I had also met my best friend, the love of my life! She is amazing and always has been so supportive of anything I do. An injury to both my rotator cuff and elbow set me back a bit, adding in buying a house, renovations, new schools for the kids...yada yada yada. I could go on. Time got away from me.

So here we are. As I looked at myself in the mirror....my body aches and I get winded going up the stairs. A far cry from the man I once was...not mentally, but physically.

Time to get back at it. Because frankly, I would like to be around for all of the kids special events in their lives.

I will leave you with this quote from one of my favorite movies...

"Either get busy living, or get busy dying."

I think I'll choose living.

    Hi, if you are looking for a challenge group to help you lose weight, the Biggest Loser Challenge group is starting a new challenge (Jan 1st, first WI is Jan 8th) with registration happening right now.
    I am a captain of the Resolute Renegades that focuses on finding what helps you lose weight (there are basics, but we are all a bit different), and accountability (encouraging you to get your weight loss tasks done). We don't spend a lot of time online instead focusing on our weight loss tasks in real life.
    If this team doesn't feel like a fit for you, there are all kinds of teams that focus on support or pushing exercise minute or nutrition or other topics, so you can find a team that fits for you.
