Howdie! I love to golf, as you can tell. I'm trying to keep the weight off so I can live a healthier life style. I've been putting the weight back on so I'm back at it except that I found this web site to help. This site seems to be very good at tracking ones calories. My wife plays golf, as well, and I just got her to join the fun. My wife and I retired 3 years ago and we are transplants from the Bay Area of Cal. We traveled across country in a small RV and moved to Lenoir, NC. We are loving it here and we really enjoy NC. Now we are exploring the east cost and having a ball. My Goals:
I started out weighing 227 3 years ago and I just reached my long term goal of weighing below 190. I weighed in at 188 on 3/9/10 and I made a new goal of 178. That is within my healthy BMI range. I never in my wildest dreams that I could ever do that. 10 more pounds to go!

My Program:
I have been posting my food calories and started going to aerobics classes. I've learned so much about my eating habits. I made some major food choice changes that I feel I will be able to stick to my eating goals. Thanks sparkpeople.

Personal Information:
I was born in San Francisco and I am 58 years young. My passion is getting healthy and getting to a healthy BMI weight. I've lower my blood pressure where I see readings below 120/80. I was getting readings 3 years ago of 165/100. I volunteer at a health clinic and work in their pharmacy. I also volunteer at the Chamber of Commerce and am retired. I golf at least once per week and maybe twice. I moved to lenoir, NC 4 years ago with my wife. We are so very happy with our move.

Other Information:
When you golf, you lose around 1200 calories with using a cart FYI. it's easy to lose weight when you take up golf. It's automatic. Go to your local driving range and you will feel the hits go up your arms and into your heart, hahaha. Happy spark'n everyone!
