I'm Kathi and I've been struggling to lose weight for several years now. I started Sparks originally in May 2009 (I think) and I ended up giving up because I wasn't losing any weight. It was my own fault and I knew it. I go out to bars and dinner too much and splurge all the time. I hit an all time high weight of 170+.

After teaching abroad in the Republic of Georgia for the past year, I ended up losing close to 20 lbs. However, I'm still unhappy at my current weight and would like to reach the healthy weight of around 130. I really want to make an effort this summer while I'm back in the states, especially since I've already lost a decent amount of weight, and I know it's going to take work. In Georgia, it was easy. I had to walk almost everywhere, there was no fast food, I barely ate and then I had a intestinal infection. The way I lost the weight was not healthy but I didn't have much of a choice. I want to continue my trend of losing weight (this time in a healthy manner) and I'm going to try my best to keep on track here in the states. I can use all the help I can get and would love a sparkbuddy in Brevard/ Melbourne area who I can go workout or walk with.

My Goals:
Short term goal: get back on track and start using food and exercise logs

Medium term goal: Be at 140 by August and be ready to run a 5k shortly after.

Long Term: Reach 130-135 lbs by September 5.

My Program:
I'm trying to develop a healthy, consistent eating program with the help of spark recipes.

I plan on enrolling at a local gym where I can use the gym equipment but also try out some fitness class, such as Zumba or yoga.
