I need to get back on the wagon....and stay this time. I have done so well in the past.

Life got in the way.... but only because I let it.

I am in for the long haul this time.

My Goals:
Average sized clothes!
Lower blood pressure!
Lower cholesterol!
Lower BMI!
Younger appearance!
More self esteem!
More confidence!
More energy!
A regular and challenging workout routine!
Better relationship with food!
Improve muscle tone and definition!

My Program:
I plan to show up a to the gym at least 4 times a week.
I plan to try a variety of exercises.

I plan to conquer the elliptical machine -- I did it before; I can do it again!

I plan to make permanent changes for my sake and the sake of my family.

Personal Information:
I teach fourth grade. I have been teaching for 25 years. I have a daughter, 18.
I was a dancer and a soccer player in junior high, and a varsity cheerleader in high school. I know what it is like to be in shape and at a healthy weight. I miss it.
I lost my parents in 2006 and 2008. They both went too soon...and both form complications associated with obesity. I don't want to think that I might follow in their footsteps. I lost my sister in 2020 to Metastatic Stage IV Breast Cancer. She was not even 45 years old.
I lost a lot of weight in the past, but I have gained a tremendous amount back.

Other Information:
From earlier: I spent 2010 making up for lost time. I lost 65 pounds over the course of a year and a half, and I continue to work on it. I have developed habits to take me through the rest of my life. Exercise is a reward now, not a punishment. Food and I have come to an understanding as well....
I am making goals for myself that a year ago I would have laughed at. NO MORE! I have seen what I am capable of....

Saw your repsonse on the scale thread and wanted to stop by and say hello and wish you well on this healthy journey! I see you're doing great so far! Good for you!

Feel free to stop by my spark page or drop me an email if you ever have any questions or need some support. A lot of great people on here helped me keep going in some really tough times, so you may not have an exercise partner in person, but you've got a whole spark community here. And I didn't have anyone to work out with for the frist year or two, either, so you can still do it. Honestly, I think it's easier to go it alone in the beginning...since I used to dance (and am doing so again now) I found that trying to be with other people often discouraged me...I couldn't understand why my body couldn't do even a 10th of what it used to or why I couldn't keep up with others. Going it alone helped me to really listen to my body and learn to stay within it's abilities, and then stretch as they grew. I hope you can do that, too! :)

Anyway, good luck and nice to 'virtually' meet you! :)
