    Hey Sophia!
I'm Heather (GalacticSparkle) from our Santa's Sleigh Belle team! I just popped in to check on you, and see how you were liking the challenges so far!?

I read on our thread that you have been working hard this week. I am proud that you are doing so well for yourself, and even though its painful you keep pushing through! I know how it is because, I also have bad knees, walking for long periods of time or going up a flight of stairs is KILLER. Especially in cold weather! Brrr.
But after I started losing some weight, it didn't hurt as bad! So that's something to look forward to, all your effort will pay off!

As far as what your doctor told you about walking 10 minutes per day, who knows maybe you should listen? I am part of another group, and you may have heard of it, or even joined it already. But if you are interested here is the web address: http://www.sparkpeople.com/myspark/groups_

Sorry that you'll have to copy and paste to your browser, I can't put a link in a comment :(

Anyway! The web address above goes to another Spark People group called, " Official 10-Minute Daily Exercise Streak Challenge". I like it so far, 10 minutes a day isn't bad at all! It has actually helped to condition my body so that I CAN workout longer.

I hope your strength exercise went well!! You go Sleigh Belle!!

Thank you for commenting on my blog, Casual cruelty at the gym. Many women had kind words of support. Now if we could just get the men to pay attention and do something!

    Blessed Be, Amanda

When you are grieving, your body needs energy (calories) to heal. Remember that not trying to lose weight (because you have more important things on your mind) isn't the same as gaining weight. Just try to maintain and eat as you "normally" would - try to make good food choices, even if portions or servings are off kilter. Maintaining some semblance of "normal" will help with he healing, MAYBE! in the meantime, I'll be sending positive thoughts and uplifting energy your way.
