Hi! The most pictures you see on this page are several years old (I did update my profile picture 1/16/2109). I don't have any recent pictures to post because I am having trouble facing the fact that I gained 63 pounds over the past five years. It's a long story that I don't care to relate here, but anyway...What I do want to relate is that I'm now in a better place and I am eager to get healthy and have more fun again! Gaining 63 pounds was easy--but it was not fun. And it left me with a lot of regret. But it did also leave me with lots of new knowledge about myself--how I feel about myself, my life, my needs and desires. I no longer have the need to be 'skinny,' for one thing. I'll be 60 years old in February 2019. Being a twig is the furthest thing from my mind now! I want to be fit, strong, and healthy. Period! And--I just want to live a healthy lifestyle--not a temporary, lose-20-pounds-in-a-month lifestyle. My health is a long-term, lifetime investment!

My Goals:
Ditching my old, unhealthy habits and replacing them with healthy ones.
Becoming stronger, both physically and mentally.
Learning how to blog and actually sticking with it!


My Program:
Following a balanced nutrition plan and tracking calories and macros.
Exercise: I am currently in physical therapy and am limited as to what I can do right now, but I hope to soon be on the road to recovery. I want to get strong! (or as strong as my limitations will allow). Update (1/16/2019): I'm starting to recover with daily exercise and trying to get at least 6500 steps per day.

    I read your blog recently it sounded quite a lot like what I have been feeling lately and I wanted to express my sincerest wishes that it all goes well for you.

    I thought I would let you know that we seem to have a few bits in common after looking at your SP page. I too enjoy Jane Austen, also to share I prefer the 1995 production of Persuasion over all others, and the 1990s version of Pride and Prejudice (with Collin Firth).

    I too used to live in Illinois and I miss the mid-west terribly.

    I have SO wondered what happened to you! I've been trying to touch base with some of the WSIL 3 folks who inspired me when I first joined the team at the beginning of the year. We have lots of new people joining, but they aren't experiencing the interaction and support that we once had. I remembered how you used to join in, and just wanted to stop by and tell you how much I miss that!
