UPDATE: I blew past my 'unreachable' goal of 165 and now in the 150s (159.8 as I write this)! I think I'm going to try to make it down to 146. That's the middle of healthy BMI range for my height. Once I get to 145 lbs, I'll move into tone up mode. One last push and I'll be able to relax. =)

I'm a 34 year old looking to loose about 100+ pounds. I did this once 10 years ago and gained it back over the years. I'm looking for a repeat of the weight loss and hoping to keep it off.

I'm married and have two wonderful daughters.

I'm techie (computer nerd, gadget lover, technology aficionado, etc) by nature and trade. Here's some other boring info:

FEB - 280 # - Start weight
MAR - 270 # - Stress, bad weight loss
APR - 255 # - Decided to change life, good weight loss
MAY - 250 # - Joined YMCA, found SP via YMCA
JUN - 239 # - Learned alot from YMCA health class
JUL - 230 # - 50 lbs lost total (20 lbs with SP)
AUG - 230 # - Lost 7 but gained 7 during vacation
SEP - 215 # - Started C25K, best month ever
OCT - 206 # - Finish C25K, ran 5k race
NOV - 208 # - Lost 6 but gained 8, oral surgery
DEC - 208 # - Lost 6 but gained 8, vacation
2008 Review 280lbs to 208=72 lbs, 52 lbs with SP! Thanks YMCA and SP!!

2009 End of Month Weigh-ins
JAN - 196 # - back on track
FEB - 188 # - good month despite low energy
MAR - 182.6 # - slow month, new scale
APR - 179.6 # - added strength 3x wk cardio 6x wk
MAY - 174.4 # - continued program
JUN - 173.2 # - c25k done! no time for strength =(
JUL - 169.2 # - continued running
AUG - 160.4 # - amazing month, up to 42min runs
SEP - 155.4 # - no exercise since mid aug, feeling it, started walking streak (at least 10 mins per day), gained a little during a 4 day trip to Seattle/Portland
OCT - 151.4 # - walking a 5k with the kids, yosemite
NOV - 161.2 # - thanksgiving dinner, trip home
DEC - 162.8# - xmas dinners, trip home (mom surgery)
2009 Review 208lbs to 162.8 = 45.2lbs (even hit 148 before the holidays!) Thanks YMCA and SP!!

Goal 2 200 lbs - 80 lbs gone, BMI is 'Overweight' at 202 lbs (11-20-2008)
Goal 3 180 lbs - 100 lbs gone. This is my Goal Weight.
Goal 4 165 lbs - BMI is 'Normal' (would be nice to be here)

Goal 5 145 lbs middle of BMI
Goal 6 complete 100 push up program
Goal 7 run a 10k
Goal 8 do a pull up =)

Exercise Goal

- 3-4 times per week (min 3 times)
- 30-60 mins (30 mins min)
- 15 mins at 140 bpm (working up to 30 mins at 140 bpm)

Various machines:
- 2 times per week
- 1 set, 8-12 reps to exertion (adjust weights as needed)

My Goals:
Looking to lose about 100+ pounds.

My Program:

I tend to stay under 1500 calories per day. I eat about every two hours and try to drink 2 cups (16oz) of water at Bfast, Lunch, and Dinner. I'm running these days and not doing much of the gym. If I run for 30 minutes, I tend to burn 500 calories.


I'm starting to eat small meals every two hours and to stay under 2000 calories per day. I'm slowly adding 40 mins of cardio 4 times per week with strength training 2 times per week.

Personal Information:
I live in Northern California (East Bay - about 30 minutes from downtown San Francisco). I used to live in Southern California.

I work in the computer industry (everything from web design, product management, tech support, IT, etc), a reader (Follett, Camus, Chabon, Graham Greene, Crichton), video gamer (although I only play about 5-10 mins per month), ex-surfer (had to trade in the surfboard when I moved to Northern California and 2 hrs away from the beach), ex-hiker (again, no time), husband, and a dad to 2 beautiful girls (a 10 year old and a 2 year old).

I am Mexican-American and speak and read Spanish fluently but write it horribly =)

Love to read, love movies (I'll watch anything), love any type of water activity (surfing is my favorite).
