I started trying to lose weight 2 years ago with my sister. Since then i started a horrible relationship, gained 20 more pounds, hated myself to peices, finally ditched my old life, old town, old boyfriend, old habits. Started college, lost 15lbs (and counting), met possibly the most incredible person in my life, made a ton of new friends, started loving myself, learning, and finally, started shareing what ive found out through trial and error with other people, both through twitter, facebook, and spark people. It gives me insentive to make good decisions, because if i make bad decisions, what will i have to talk about? That picture of me in february? that wasnt so long ago at all. Thats not who i am. and thats not who i'm going to be again. I'm changing my like, making habits that i will never let go, stopped eating chocolate and sugar, exercise like a maniac, and am finally giving my all to my school, my friends, and my relationships. I know who i want to be now because i can see her, and i'm almost able to reach her. This isnt about weight loss anymore, it never was, this was about finding out who i am, what i can do, how to live healthy and clean, and most importantly, loving me for me. I wish there was a way to share this with everyone. You cant do this for anyone else, you cant just tell yourself that you're going to eat this one chocolate bar and start again later, there is no later, there is only the here and now, and what you are doing at this moment to change yourself for the better. You need to want it. But let me tell you, the first time you try on cloths at a store and think you look 'hot', or you climb on the scale and you see a number you never thought was possible for the 5th day in a row, that is the most incredible feeling in the world. Just believe in yourself.
cheers, Soberye

Ok, it's your pseudo- great aunt here with lots of unsolicited advice. I went to massage school and practiced for over 10 years. Massage brings you into spheres of all kinds of eating plan pushers. Be careful. I've seen so many people get caught up in this plan and that plan and get more and more afraid of food. It can make eating disorders worse, no matter what the incidental successes say. I'm a huge advocate of the free No S Diet. If you can discipline yourself with that, you can then try other restrictions, but see what life is like eating consistently moderately first. Other than that, stay active! And there is more to life than perfecting this body. In fact, one of my favorite sayings is from Ramana Maharshi: To see the truth and yet align oneself with the body is like trying to cross a river on the back of an alligator. emoticon

Hey, I see on your program you're doing pushups every night. I'm working on pushups, too. A half marathon is too intense for my blood. How are you training for that?
