"I have just begun a weight loss program on May 13, 2007. I am hoping I can stick with this, long enough to reach my goal! I am more motivated than I have ever been before, so I am very hopeful!"

That was what I wrote when I first joined. It's now been seven months and I have not only stuck to my goals, I have exceeded them! I owe my success to Sparkpeople and all the wonderful encouragement I have been given by the members here! As of December 2007 I have now lost 65 pounds and I am still going. And not only do I have the confidence in knowing I can reach my goals, I know that this time I will be able to keep the weight off thanks to everyhting I have learned here!

Short Term Goals:
7/8 - 180 (met)
7/31 - 175 (met on 7/25)
8/19 - 168 (met on 8/17)
9/1 - 165 (met on 8/23)
9/18 -160(met on 9/13)
10/6 -155(met on 10/5)


My Program:
I have changed what I am eating, completely. I am making healthier choices and trying hard not to eat after 7:00 P.M.

I am going to the gym at least four times a week. I am spending 30 minutes on the elliptical machine. 30 minutes on the strength training machines, and when I have time, 20 minutes on a treadmill!

I am also walking for 30 minutes on my lunch break with a friend during the work week.



Personal Information:
I am 36 years old. I am a single mom. I love my pets and my daughter and I can be found at dog shows on most weekends!


Other Information:
When I was younger I was a swimmer. I was even captain of my high school swim team. I was getting a lot of exercise then. When I went to college that changed, and then at 22 years old I had my daughter, and I have been gaining weight ever since. My body wasn't getting the exercise it was use to and so my metabolism slowed down, and my eating habits weren't very good.

I have worked at a medical office for the last nine years, where I am sitting all day long. Plus, we get 3 - 5 free lunches every week from the drug companies, and this also contributed to my weight gain.

I have started going to the gym at least five days a week, and now I am going to add swimming to part of my exercise routine. I really hope this helps!

    It is good to see you've reached several of your short term goals. You have cute dogs.
    Ironically, work is the hardest place to keep up healthy habits. My company has had drug companies that give free lunches and all they do is talk about eating healthy and then excercising. unfortunatly they alsoprovide lunch that is never healthy and they talk about using drugs that you should not use unless you've see a doctor.

    I was so excited when I saw your picture. My first dog was a rough collie, that I named Kelly. IT was fun to call her Kelly the Collie. It nearly broke my heart when i lost her. emoticon

    I am amazed at your success. I wnat it so bad and at times i lose hope and think, that I am to old, to fat, to physically challenged. But I keep seeing people who are the motivator of the day and they did it so I think again that I can.
