I'm 50+, retired and loving life. I'm interested in eating better and exercising more to stay healthy and lose a few pounds.

I've never really had a weight problem in my life. When I hit middle age, had some lifestyle changes and changes that come with middle age, I began eating more and exercising less. Now I weigh more than I'd like to and have gotten very lazy about exercising. I used to walk at least two miles three to four times a week. I haven't walked in months.

I joined SparkPeople in 2007 when I was looking for a good calorie counter. I was faithful for a while, but life happens and I lost my enthusiasm for staying fit. I'm ready to begin again.

My Goals:
Make better food choices, control proportions, drink at least 8 glasses of water a day, some kind of exercise at least 3 times a week.

My Program:
My new healthy habits include:

Planning ahead by keeping healthy food choices and low calorie snacks at home and in my car.

Choosing smaller portions.

Drinking water, water, water - at least 8 glasses a day.

Walking 3 miles a day to a Leslie Sansone DVD at least 3 days a week.

Adding crunches, situps and leg lifts for strength exercises.

Staying focused on my goal to become healthier.

Personal Information:
I am retired and married to a man who loves to cook and loves to eat.

I have two wonderful children and five grandchildren. My extended family includes his three daughters, nine grandchildren and two great grandchildren.

I love the Lord and have many people who support me in my walk with Him.

Other Information:
I enjoy camping. We have a fifth wheel and travel with it as much as we can.

I'm Queen of a red hat chapter "Diamonds in the Pluff". Getting together with my girlfriends at any time is a favorite thing to do.

I like to read fiction books when I have time.

I love photography.

I have a kayak and enjoy kayaking.
