I am one of those people who has tried almost every "diet." I've been on Nutrisystem (lost 60 pounds in 6 months in High School), Jenny Craig, WeightWatchers, the Rotation Diet, the Eat More Weigh Less diet, LA Weightloss, Take Shape for Life, Metabolic Research Centers, and countless others. In every case, I succeeded only to gain back the weight I lost (and sometimes more!). What was missing in every case was my ability to stick with the plan long-term. Some people call it will power. But, what I discovered is that I never dealt with all of the "baggage" that came with the weight gain - the things that caused it, and the things that created a situation that made it next to impossible for me to be successful without dealing with those issues. This requires critical thinking, mental toughness training for weight loss, and a great accountability partner. So far, I've lost over 75 pounds, and using mental toughness and a solid weight loss program, I now know I'll not only reach goal, but keep it off. For the first time ever, I'm not worried about maintenance - I'm already doing the things that I'll continue to do during maintenance, so the need for some complicated transition is no longer necessary.
A new twist to my story started in January, 2014. I thought I would be hitting my goal weight this year, but I made the mistake of showing God my plans, and he laughed. But, in a great way! For the first time ever, I'm pregnant! My husband and I are thrilled - we never thought this would happen for us! So, now I'm using our program and mental toughness to stay on track so I eat healthy and have a healthy pregnancy. But once our miracle is here, I'll be right back in weight loss mode again, and am excited to hit my goal next year.

    Just watched a whole whack of your video blogs -- You two are doing great, and your candour about the journey and the mental toughness it takes are real gifts to everyone here . . . Well done, what a transformation.

    PS Checked your Spark teams: have you considered the At Goal and Maintaining: Transition to Maintenance team? You don't have to be at goal to join . . . the focus is on learning techniques of maintenance so that this will be the last time losing. Leading edge stuff, IMHO the most valuable info here at Spark.
