My name is Elisabeth. I am 22 years old and have been steadily gaining weight since I was 16. I am here to break the cycle and lose all of the weight I gained!

I have been on diets before and sure I lose the weight but it always comes back. And then I get depressed so I eat more food so my weight has been steadily going up over the past 6 years.
When I was 16, I weighed 145 lbs. And I was still the heaviest of all my friends. Since then I have gained about 10 lbs every year. Early this spring (2011) I saw a picture of myself taken over Thanksgiving weekend (2010). Up till then I hadn't let anyone take pictures of me because I knew I was fat, I just didn't know how overweight I had become. So I pulled out the wii fit I got for Christmas that year and I stood on the scale and that stupid little voice told me I was obese. I weighed 211 lbs.
At that point I started working out regularly, and eating mostly fruits and vegetables. When I got down to 193 lbs I quit. I hit a sort of plateau and was discouraged and I quit. Then two weeks ago I found sparkpeople and it has been a wonderful experience so far. My starting weight here was 197 lbs and already it has dropped down to 194.4 lbs. Thank you Sparkpeople and I am hoping and praying this will be my time to lose the weight once and for all :D

I read a post on here about not waiting until you feel you are perfect to do the things you want to do. If I were to wait until I lost all 62lbs then I would indeed have a very long wait. So I have decided to give myself something I want with every goal I reach.

My Program:
My weight loss program is kinda vague, but I am trying to eat more veggies, less red meat, I love sweet things like brownies and cookies and cake and lots of other things that aren't good for me so I am limiting myself to one per day, also trying to drink more water.
