My name is Sherry and I'm trying to get myself back into shape after a lengthy illness and surgery. I gained over 100 pounds through the course of the illness and now its time for me to begin a new set of habits that will help me feel and look better.

I had my thyroid removed and it makes it extremely difficult for me to keep the weight off. I found a medication summer 2017 that caused me to lose 46 lbs in 3 months without trying, because the problem is my lack of thyroid. Believe it or not, the lab that makes the thyroid medication I finally found RAN OUT and I've had to go back to my old medication and gained back about 25 lbs. So... I'm trying once again.

My Goals:
My original goal was to lose over 100 pounds. I've lost 21 and am continuing on my quest to lose the rest. Once I've lost my weight, my goal will be to maintain a proper weight and to have healthy eating habits for the rest of my life.


My Program:
I am eating a non-inflammatory diet, which consists of lots of anti-oxident foods, such as berries, squash, spinach, lean meats and whole grains. I have Greens First every morning - a high-protein shake that contains 10 servings of vegetables. I was exercising regularly in aqua classe in the pool at my gym, but have a severe knee injury and had to stop. I plan to keep my SparkPeople trackers open and track my eating and fitness regularly throughout each day.

Other Information:
I have been married since 1989 and I have one child - a married daughter - son-in-law and granddaughter. I'm self-employed in a retail business and work heavily on computers. I have been in recovery from alcohol and drugs since 1987 and that has saved my life. I'm a pretty happy, positive person and I'm very friendly. I like people and hearing about their lives.
