Happy Friday! It's the beginning of a long holiday weekend, and one we as Americans love to celebrate - Independence Day. It is sad that this term is now used infrequently. Why not remind others what the celebration is all about? People have forgotten what 4th of July really is about. It's not just another day for cookouts, fun, and fireworks. Our July 4th commemorates what our ancestors fought for, and the freedom(s) that we have, and use everyday. It's not fireworks and parties. That's just what makes it fun. Wish all your friends and family "A Happy Independence Day", and help them remember, too!

I'm hoping I can fire up your enthusiasm for some holiday fun with these hot jokes. I hope you'll get a real bang out of them!

emoticon What kind of tea did the American colonists want?
    Liberty!

emoticon Did you hear the joke about the Liberty Bell?
    It cracked me up!

emoticon A battery and a firework were arrested.
They charged one, and let the other one off.

emoticon Which colonists told the most jokes?
    Punsylvanians!

emoticon What's red, white, and blue and likes to wave?
    The American flag.

This one will crack you up. . .
emoticon How come there are no knock knock jokes about America?
    Because freedom rings!

emoticon Why did the colonial doctor give America a clean bill of health?
It had a good, strong constitution.

emoticon What did the little firecracker say to the big firework?
    Hi Pop!

emoticon What would you get if you crossed a patriot with a very classy, curly-haired dog?
    A Yankee Poodle Dandy.

I hope you didn't find any of these jokes to be flame-outs or real duds!
Enjoy your weekend and keep freedom ringing! emoticon

The first computer dates back to Adam and Eve. It was an Apple with limited memory, just one byte. And then everything crashed.

I changed my password to "incorrect". Now whenever I forget what it is the computer displays a message that reads, "Your password is incorrect".

My computer's got Miley Virus. It has stopped twerking.

What's the first symptom your computer is getting old?
    Memory problems.

Happy Friday, and have a wonderful weekend!

Thanks for dropping by my page to visit with your support and encouragement!

It’s Motivational Monday! Today we are going to look at the positive side of failure.

"Failure is not a single, cataclysmic event. You don't fail overnight. Instead, failure is a few errors in judgment, repeated every day.” ~ Jim Rohn

Failure serves to remind us that the greater teaching in it is about your ability to endure and recover, and then continuing to move forward again. This applies to everything in our lives, not just through this journey for better health and well-being. It’s also not just about the outcome, but every facet of what we encounter and experience.

Our deepest confidence comes not within that single moment of triumph and victory in reaching the goal, but rather in the countless, small, ordinary moments that you experience - good or bad every second of every day - which ultimately gets you to crossover that finish line.

To help you navigate these little twists, turns, and detours, here are a few suggestions that can help those negative experiences to be more palatable.

    • Accept the fact that failure must be a part of any process/experience. Even the most successful people have not skated through everything unscathed. It’s the ability to look at and learn from that experience that helps us to learn, adjust, and move on.
    • Give your frustration a positive outlet. If nothing else, give yourself a pat on the back for your efforts. Don’t beat yourself up.
    • You have to be brutally honest with yourself and look at what happened and why. It’s very difficult to take a good look at ourselves and our failures, and most choose to avoid it because of that pain.
    • All of these painful choices, experiences, and outcomes are for our benefit, and to help us to see that we need to make a change(s), and the guts and strength to try again, and to make changes with the intent for a better outcome the next time. It’s a purposeful and involuntary roadblock, so that we are deliberately forced to stop and change our direction.
    • In actuality, it’s an opportunity in disguise. It’s up to you to choose which way you want to turn, but in order to do that you have to move.

Babies are a terrific example. Take a moment to think about some of the most basic things you’ve had to learn to do in your lifetime from the time that you were born - learning to roll over, learning to sit up by yourself, learning to crawl, and most importantly, learning to walk. If you think about it, these skills are quite difficult for a baby to master. Watch a baby - they repeatedly try over, and over, and over - until finally, on that next try, they surprise themselves by actually doing it! So it is the same for the rest of our lives, only our challenges become more complex and more difficult.

“You’re going to go through tough times - that’s life. But I say, ‘Nothing happens to you, it happens for you.’ See the positive in negative events in your life.” ~ Joel Osteen

Wishing you a great week with many small successes!

emoticon M - Make optimism a way of thought. Make enthusiasm a way of life. Make gratitude the way to happiness.
emoticon A - As we begin each new day, it is up to only us to choose the attitude that will set the tone, and color our day.
emoticon R - Remember that all of your efforts today were the best that you could do.
emoticon C - Choice is our greatest gift in every moment.
emoticon H - Honor your Spark Friends for all of the encouragement and support they provide.

emoticon F- Focus on achieving the balance in your day. Some work, some play, some time for introspection.
emoticon O - One day at a time through one choice at a time.
emoticon R - Risk can be intimidating. . . but if you don’t risk anything, you risk even more.
emoticon W - We can’t do much about the length of our life, but we can do plenty about its width and depth.
emoticon A - Attitude is the path to success, and a positive outlook is the vehicle that you drive.
emoticon D - Daily ripples of success, over time, quietly become a wave of success.

    March On! emoticon
