My name is Amy, I'm 31, and living in Florida. 10-15 years ago I was a high school athlete graduating to an active college and graduate school lifestyle. I was in the best shape of my life (although I didn't realize it at the time).

I gradually fell out of shape after an emotional crisis left me unable to go outside for months without a panic attack. That was five years ago. Since then I never really adapted to a life of normalcy again. I spent all my evenings after work at home watching tv and eating whatever I felt like.

The fact that I was completely out of shape really hit home when I went on a vacation with my family in Georgia and went for a hike. I was so winded that I had to stop and rest after 15 minutes, and every 10-15 minutes after that. It was really disturbing to me that I had gotten that bad.

I joined a gym, they had a promotional discount membership offer that I took advantage of, and now I'm there 3x every week. Mostly cardio to start, but I've also begun work with a personal trainer who will show me how to properly use weight machines and other tools for resistance training.

I have another vacation planned for July to the US Virgin Islands, and I want to drop 2 sizes before I leave and not hide under my clothes and coverups the whole week.

I am determined to succeed.
