*Update (Mar. 14, 2013): Since writing everything below I have spiraled downward and gained back everything I had lost, plus some. I am now at my new highest weight ever. I never thought I'd get back to my starting weight, and never dreamed I'd actually pass it. But here I sit, fearing death on a daily basis, realizing that as I get older my body just can't handle this anymore, and not living the life I want. That changes now!

*Update #2 (Jan. 05, 2014): Ok, so I didn't start getting serious about losing weight until October 2013, when I was diagnosed at diabetic. Now I don't have much of a choice. Unfortunately, maybe that's what I needed.

Howdy all! To introduce myself, my name is Lisa, 37 years old, happily married for 16 years, and the very proud mother of 2. I've tried losing weight in the past and managed to take off 60 pounds (only a small fraction of what I need to lose) a few years ago while on weight watchers. At some point I lost my motivation and stopped losing. Eventually I gained 50 of those pounds back. I joined SP a couple years ago and lost about 20 pounds. I stopped being active on SP but managed to keep those 20 pounds off. Now here I am again, and this time I'm determined to stay active on SP.

My real goal here isn't to become "thin and gorgeous" but really just to feel comfortable in my own skin. To be able to go somewhere and not feeling like I'm stared at or talked about. I'm only 36 and I have so much more living to do ... I won't be able to though if I don't get control of this now.


My first weight loss goal was to lose 50 pounds. I reached that goal on Sept. 20, 2009. I have much more then that to lose but it makes it easier to think of losing 50 pound increments. Now that I've reached my first 50, my next goal is to lose another 50, plus achieving the goals listed below.*

Based on starting weight, here are my percentage weight loss goals:

5% = 15.9 lbs. (Restart = 17.7 lbs.)

10% = 31.7 lbs. (Restart = 35.3 lbs.)

For those that wonder I am only 5' 1/2" tall. I always round to 5' 1" for weight purposes. I pack a lot of weight in this short body! LOL

My Goals:
My non-number related goals are:

*Have fun with my kids and husband. Not just sit on the sidelines watching.

*Go places and not worry about whether I will fit in the seats or not.

*Shop in a regular store.

*Take my kids to school in my PJ's and look cute! (Not like I am an overweight slob.)

*Not worry that every chest pain I get, is the onset of a heart attack due to my weight!


My Program:
I don't actually have a 'program'. I've cut back on how much I eat and really started to become more aware of what is going in my mouth. I use to do the Leslie Sansone Walk Away the Pounds DVDs, but haven't done them in a while.



Personal Information:
I'm a happily married woman. I have a daughter that's 17 and a son that's 13. We live in Fort Bragg, CA on the beautiful Pacific coast. For those that are thinking of asking ... no, we are not a military base. :)


Other Information:
I LOVE to read. If I'm not reading something I feel like my brain is wilting away. Three of my favorite authors are Victor Villasenor, Patricia Cornwell, and Wally Lamb. I really like mystery, but also like to read any kind of book with substance.
