I've been a member of Spark People since 2008! I had ahhhmazing success with logging my food when I first joined as it motivated, educated, and truly changed my life for a good 3 years. Fast forward to life took a bit of a roller coaster ride...but for the better. I made a lot of good changes in my life that caused me to have less time to focus on working out and eating healthy. I have changed careers, married the love of my life and recently turned the big 3-1. The career change was the hardest to juggle. I was working 2-3 jobs to try to make ends meet to make sure that my new business venture would work out. I didn't have time to focus on me anymore. I needed to focus on paying bills and making my clients happy. Starting January 2013 I am now a full-time business owner and wedding photographer and I absolutely adore what I do. I work a lot from home stuck in front of a computer and because of my current sedentary lifestyle I've embarrassingly gained everything I've ever lost (WTH?).

I struggle with binge eating and will often hide the food I've consumed. I hate diets and I silently refuse to tell anyone that I am on a diet. I don't think you should have to diet but live a life of healthy choices. I'm just looking to maintain a healthy and happy lifestyle that I once LOVED. I adored eating healthy and working out. I remember feeling soo amazing finishing a run. Now, I get winded walking up the stairs! What did I do to myself? How did I let this get so out of control? Regardless of how I got back to this point, I need to stay focused on taking care of 'me.' Even if that means being a tad bit selfish for putting my workouts before my work...for once.

So, now I am looking for friends...let me rephrase that...I am in NEED of dear friends who can motivate me to maintain a healthy lifestyle. I really need you to join me on this journey and if you would like to stay in touch or help motivate each other I welcome you to message me or comment below!

Thank you to everyone who has stopped by my page to give me warm welcomes and kind comments. I'm so happy and thankful to have found sparkpeople....even though I come and go...but this time I'm here for good :) I got this.

Below is a list of my favorite foods from 2009, when I was as my peak. Hopefully, I can continue to add to this list and use it to refresh my memory of what I like!

A few of my favorite foods:
Brown Rice Pasta
Muir Glen Fired Roasted Tomatoe
Egg Whites
Bob's Red Mill Gluten Free Pancakes
Ground Turkey
Light Flatouts
Brown Rice
Homemade soups/stews

I also love making protein shakes. Especially in the summertime with ice cubes, and a frozen banana. It cures my craving for ice cream and tastes sooo good!

Also, a fun breakfast treat that I enjoy is a 1/2 scoop of chocolate protein powder mixed in 1/2 cup of oatmeal and a tablespoon of natural peanut butter...tastes just like a chocolate peanut butter oatmeal cookie and keeps you full for hours on end. You can also experiment with other flavors but this is by far my favorite combo.

Here are some of my favorite quotes:
*Some people dream about success... while others wake up and work hard at it

*Your past does not equal, nor does it dictate, your future

*Rather than aiming for being perfect, just aim to be little bit better today than you were yesterday

*Nothing tastes as good as being thin feels

*One should eat to live, not live to eat

*Life itself is the proper binge. ~Julia Child

My Goals:
*Complete a 5K
*Lower my BMI to a healthy level
*Eat less processed foods

My Program:
I eat 5-6 meals a day

-Mid Morning Snack
-Afternoon Snack
-Evening Snack

I try to aim for 40 mins of cardio a day (running, workout videos, or tennis) or 200 mins a week.

I also try to get in 3 days of strength training.

My diet consists of eating clean foods and I have recently cut out all beef and pork product from my diet. I try to eat a lot of vegetables with some lean protein; chicken, egg whites and turkey.I try to keep my sodium under control my eliminating almost all processed foods. Once in a while I slip up but I would go crazy if I couldn't have a fun night once in a while.

Personal Information:
I have a passion for cooking and I actually enjoy the challenge of cooking light meals that taste great BUT I enjoy eating out and toasting a few cocktails here and there. Needless to say it has taken a toll on my body. I hope to continue doing the things I enjoy but with some moderation.

Other Information:
A few books that have helped me along the way are:
The Eat Clean Diet by Tosca Reno--*this is by far my go to book*

Master your Metabolism by Jillian Michaels

Miracle of Fasting by Paul Bragg

My let loose and have fun reads are most def by Jen Lancaster! I've never laughed so hard in my life.

So glad to have found you in the 30 somethings with 25-49 pounds to lose group page!

I too am a photographer and can totally relate being stuck in front of the computer at home. My workspace has always been loaded quick snacks and considering my pantry is only a few steps aways, I have carelessly packed on many pounds over the last several years.

For years now I have dieted off and on and I always fail. I have never been more ready and willing than now. I feel 110% dedicated and I want to share my journey with others and be held accountable for my actions.

I would love to have a SparkBuddy if you're interested!

Can't wait to follow along in your journey!

"Do not let your fire go out, spark by irreplaceable spark.
In the hopeless swamps of the not quite, the not yet, and the not at all,
do not let the hero in your soul perish and leave only frustration for the life you deserved, but never have been able to reach.
The world you desire can be won, it exists, it is real, it is possible, it is yours."
