Hi, My name is DJ. I have a wonderful husband of 35 years . We have 3 really cool adult kids, a lovely daughter-in-law, and 3 energetic grand kids.

I started on spark people somewhere around 2012 and lost 50 pounds. I kept it off until this last year. I only gained ten pounds but lost a lot of muscle. Now working on getting fit again.

My exercises are focused on stationary bike, YouTube workouts for strength training, and stretching tape called Callanetics from the 80's. I also have started an app called "just 6 weeks" that includes sit ups, push ups, planks, dips, & squats. It is a slow go if I am not consistent. I try to add fun activities like Hula hooping, walking, line dancing, Zumba, belly dancing, mini trampoline, swimming, yoga and anything else that is fun. I still am not consistent as I need to be, but I am learning how important it is to take care of myself. Updated: 4/8/18: joined 'find 10 Challenge". Hoping that it takes the stress out of missing my morning workouts and instead is grab fitness on the fly. Thanks for the support I am receiving.

By the way, I am from Northwest (Pensacola), Florida. I love the beach, paddle boarding, water skiing, and boating during the summer. I want to try sail surfing this year.

LOL. So many things to do and not enough time to do it all.

My Goals:
My fitness goals are:
* To focus on fitness-I slacked up on fitness but kept weight in range. Was surprised to see what muscle loss looks like. Amazing both in looks and strength. So back to cardio, strength, and flexibility 10 minutes at a time.
*Balanced nutrition and having fun with it. New recipes, new techniques, new foods, etc.
*Being active. Just having fun being strong and playful in the pool, at the beach, fishing, getting with friends, even at work.
*Laugh a lot. Enjoy the wonderful people in my life.
* to be all I can be.


My Program:
Exercise is my pivot point. Everything goes well if I exercise. Trouble is I am not an exercise lover. Although I am TRYING TO LEARN to really enjoy it and the results. Everything is so much easier when I am fit. Working on getting muscle back. Not easy, but so worth it. Now (4/8/18) doing the "find 10 challenge"
