Being a nurse can sometimes have it's disadvantages. Having crazy hours, we tend to have crazy eating/exercise habits. We tend to celebrate everything from coworkers birthdays, resignations, weddings, have "just because" potlucks, and "order out lunch" This is not including when some of our wonderful patients present cakes, donuts and all kinds of goodies to show their gratitude, and of course, we feel obligated to eat them. And after a stressful day, we go home--stomach full of goodies, and hit the sack. We know better, but continue to do it, neglecting our bodies and tipping the scale. The next time you go to the hospital or a clinic. Count the number of overweight nurses you see--(Did you run out of fingers trying to count them?--smile). That's why I have a new attitude and desire to get rid of this extra" ME"-- FOR ME!!!!!

My Goals:
I would like to have a weight loss of 25lbs by 12/04/06 for a cruise. Then lose an additional 20 lbs as a lifestyle change

My Program:
I try to work out 5 days a week. If I know I will miss. I workout 3 days a week twice a day. At this point doing anything "cardio" wise. Treadmill, swimming, elliptical machine, choreobics(dance class), power yoga.

I'm from the great state of Mississippi. I am 33 years old, married to a supportive husband and we have 2 children. I am a Registered Nurse and work long hours and crazy shifts. I am so glad I found this spark page to help with motivation and all the great tips
