I've always been the curvy one of my friends, so I never worried too much about my weight or how I looked next to my friends. I was a little on the heavier side of average, but that was as much because of genetics as poor habits. So I was quite surprised when I realized just how much weight I'd gained. After ten years of bad habits, I am ready to move on and start living a better life!

Update January 2015:
After spending my 20s gaining weight, I ended my 29th year near 270 pounds. At my heaviest, I was 273. I've lost 30 pounds so far, and I'd love to lose another 100 or so. However, focusing on weight itself hasn't been especially great for me in terms of results. So instead, I'm choosing to focus on other goals, like training long-term for a marathon and improving my overall fitness.

Starting weight (5/16/14): 273 pounds
Goal Weight: 136 pounds

My Goals:
- Walk 6x a week for a month
- On March 1, 2015, start a 5K training program
- Be able to run a 5K comfortably without stopping by June 30, 2015
- Be able to run a 10K comfortably without stopping by December 31, 2015
- 2016: Train for a half marathon
- 2017: Begin training for a full marathon
- 2018: Run the California International Marathon
- 2019: Run the Big Sur International Marathon
- 2020: Run the Loch Ness and/or Dingle Marathons

My Program:
-Walking daily
-Strength training at the gym 3x a week.
- Switching from processed foods to more healthful alternatives
