Time for a change! I am tired of not being able to keep up with my son at the park, tired of needing progressively larger clothes, tired of my favorite clothes getting too small, tired of not being happy with how I look, and most of all, tired of being tired all the time!

2012 update!
I have lost a total of 38 lbs since I started getting healthier in August, which comes out to 1 size in my shirts, and 2 sizes in my pants, gained a ton of flexibility and stamina, as well as more muscle tone. I don't need afternoon naps every day anymore, and I have learned to love cooking (and eating) healthier. Who knew green stuff could taste so good?
I am almost halfway to my goal weight, and I have yet to feel like I am on a diet, I don't feel deprived because I can have small amounts of the foods I love as treats, and I can remake my favorites to fit in my meal plan, and I actually look forward to doing my workout, because I know I will get a boost of energy when I am done that beats any caffeinated drink out there.
Finding SparkPeople to help me make this lifestyle change is the best thing I have ever done for myself! I use the trackers every day, and it has really helped to be able to see what I should be burning and what I should be eating. The small goals to meet daily and a weekly weigh in definitely helps me stay on track instead of worrying about the entire amount I wanted to lose.
Instead of eating every time I think I want food, I now drink more water and then if I really am hungry I have a healthy snack. I think I drank a cup of water a week before, I lived on diet sodas and coffee.
This is definitely a whole new me, and I'm gonna just keep getting better!

Fitness Minutes: 9,848

My Goals:
While I am losing I plan to buy thrift store clothes for my in between sizes, to save some cash, except for my special goal rewards. =)
I am not counting my pre sparkpeople weight loss in my goals, I lost 17 lbs on my own that is reflected in the pics and tracker, anything over that counts toward my goals.

218 lbs - new game *11/13/11* Woohoo! I got Super Marioland 3D!

208 lbs - new comfy lounge pants/yoga pants
*12/31/11* Now a Large in Old Navy foldover yoga pants, woohoo! Edit* Ordered a large but had to swap for a medium so it would fit snug on my legs like it should, and no muffin top either, double woohoo!

198 lbs - pick a new haircolor *2/4/12* Made an appt to get my hair done at Dosha on my birthday, going au naturale, =) haven't seen my own haircolor in ages.

188 lbs - new glasses *3/25/12* Picked em out already, now I just need to get the prescription, they are gonna be super cute!

178 lbs - new game

168 lbs - new


My Program:
Drink at least 8 glasses of water daily.
Follow Spark's guidelines for calories in.
Track food after each meal.
Use the elliptical or do step arobics for at least 45 minutes a day, steadily increasing the resistance on the elliptical when I stop sweating and breathing hard.
Work my way up to 100 crunches on ab strength training days, and 100 pushups on upper body strength training days. (up to 50 as of December 2011)
Walk at least 5000 steps per day.



Personal Information:
I live in Portland, Oregon.
I am happily married, 8 years as of Halloween 2011. We have a rambunctious 4 yr old boy, who I want to be able to keep up with.
Our household also includes 2 dogs, 2 cats, 2 birds and my inlaws.


Other Information:
I love to play video games, watch movies, read books, listen to music (preferably metal, industrial or electronica) and cook, and I am quickly relearning how to still make things delicious without making myself fluffier....
