Hi everyone! I'm 51 and have an office job - at a CANDY COMPANY.

My weight and sedentary lifestyle are resulting in a lack of energy, heart problems, foot problems, and lack of social motivation, so I've decided that I need to get moving and modify my eating and exercise plans to feel better.

I also had minor heart surgery two years ago, so I need to start all over on the exercise plan. Slow and steady... I'll get there though.

My Goals:
- Lose weight spinning
- Tone up with strength training
- Keep flexible with yoga
- Drink plenty of water
- Increase consumption of grains
- Increase consumption of produce
- Decrease consumption of fat
- Decrease consumption of sugar
- Decrease consumption of processed foods

My Program:
Drink tons of water, exercise a minimum of 45 minutes every day, but change it up and have fun with it. Lower fat, calories, sugar & processed food. Increase consumption of whole foods such as fruit, veggies & grains, getting enough sleep. Make time for ME - I need to relax too!

Personal Information:
I'm from Northern New Jersey - lots of dairy and corn farms. Married to a great guy who does nothing around the house but is otherwise very cool. One daughter in St. Louis area, and a stepson in my town. Same company for 21 years. Conservative in some ways, but completely spontaneous and shockingly unusual in others.

Other Information:
I'm bored with my life. I do nothing other than work, take care of my home and address all the 'have tos'. I'm on a mission to get out there and have more fun. Being more fit will be the icing on the cake. It will allow me to be more active. I'm also planning a vacation somewhere in the caribbean to celebrate my 50th birthday, and I want to feel Ok about my body when I go.

    I hear ya, making it a new life style is HARD

    i have caught myself not eating all healthy

    still within cal range but not the right foods,
    i need a kick in the butt

    we will get it, all we have to do is keep on trying

    thanks for the gift... the ray of sunshine is the best. Although right now I would LOVE that crisp September air. I am from Passaic county - Hawthorne actually. We went to the Belmar this past weekend and I actually let my fiancee take my picture.. something that is few and far between.

    Don't let one day of not walking get you down. I just found spark today and have had an amazing day.

    good morning! Thank you for adding me as your friend it was a nice wake up surprize.

    I am going to come home today/or tomorrow and get back into a rythum that will really help me make more progress. Being on vactaion at someone else's house, I have very little to say on how the food will go. I have been making good choices, but they took me out to dinner and I consumed way more than I needed or would have eaten on my own. I do not go out to eat yet, as I am still to new to spark.
