Hello! (Updated 06.19.2011)
I live in TX with my husband and 5 kids, and have a good amount of weight to lose. My goal when starting SparkPeople a few years ago was to lose a bit over 140 lbs. Now my goal is to lose 120lbs; I have yo-yoed back and forth up to 300lbs and down to 258 the last two years. Right now I am about 285, so 125 lbs lost to get to 165lbs would be wonderful. However, I have fallen off the wagon so much, I have updated my Mini Goals so I don't get so off track and discouraged. Hopefully over the next 4 months or so I can lose about 25 to 30 lbs.

My greatest concern above weight loss, though, is feeling better (less tired and less likely to get sick) and having more energy to enjoy and improve my life overall. I have had a hard time getting to the gym, and sticking to various exercise classes I have signed up for because I have either been too tired, or too busy with work/home responsibilities or had conflicts with minion activities.

I recently read Robb Wolf's The Paleo Solution, and am currently reading Doug McDuff's Body by Science and Mark Sisson's Primal Blueprint. These books are teaching me, and I am very excited about the prospect of not having to spend hours each week working out to achieve my health and fitness goals. Many of my friends have found success with Paleo type diets, feeling better and losing weight, so I know they can work. I have read a lot online about High Intensity Training (HIT) and I am excited about that as well. I think the real question is not do these work, but will I actually do them?

I have blogs outside, but I am not really that comfortable discussing my battle of the bulge in any of them. Perhaps this is the perfect place for that.

My Program:
Updated 06.19.11
Trying to re-start! Reading books on Paleo diets and slow burn/HIT type exercise activities.
I am slowly working into bringing only foods that are "paleo friendly" into the house - gluten free, lots of protein and veggies, plus some fruit.

Other than walking the dog once a day for 30 minutes, I will focus on the eating part, and incorporate an exercise plan a few weeks after that.

I hope to revisit and update my program based on what is working at least once per month. We shall see!
