I'm playing it safe cuz I definitely don't want to plateau lol. I figure a steady loss of 2lbs/wk is better than going for more and risk the setback of a plateau :) 1721 days ago

...and hold on to fat. Too much deficit could trigger "starvation mode" in the body, and it would stop losing weight for fear that food was scarce. That's when you could plateau, and you would stop losing weight. 1721 days ago

Two lbs/week is great! That's what I'm doing. If your daily differential was 1500, you would be set to lose 3 lbs/week. But that's where the plot thickens: if our bodies experience that much of a calorie deficit, they might think something is wrong.. 1721 days ago

In other words, 500daily cals×7days in a week=3500weekly cals. Since 3500 cals are in a lb, that's a loss of 1 lb per week. If your daily differential is 1000, that's double so therefore that's a 2lb/loss, which is what you are achieving. 1721 days ago

Second, I'll explain what I know about calorie differential and weight loss. There are 3500 cals in a lb. For example, if you were to have a differential of 500 cals per day for an entire week, you would lose 1lb a week 1721 days ago
