I'm Sherrie, a 46 year old SAHM living in Loon Lake, WA. I would like to get back to where I was in 1999 after I lost 90+ pounds and was in the best shape of my life. Then I got sick with diabetes, hypothyroid, fibromyalgia, osteoarthritis, and the list goes on. I had to go on insulin and gained back 60 pounds in just a few months. And of course, the rest came back too, and brought some friends.

I lost 25 - 30 pounds in the beginning of 2007, and have maintained it for the most part. Now I'm looking to lose another 30 or so pounds this year (2008). In total, I'd like to lose 125 pounds. That sounds like a lot, so I break it up into much smaller goals. 30 pounds is doable.

Update 9/26/08 - I've reached my 50 lb. goal. I'm still up and down, but have been very close for a while now. I'm excited to finally get there, and really amazed that it is almost October, and I have been working consistently since January, have lost almost 35 lbs this year, and have NOT GIVEN UP!!! I continue to track my food daily. That is the trick for me. I am not dieting. I eat what I want, when I want. No deprivation. I am just a fanatic about goal setting and keeping all of my charts and graphs!

Update 12/26/2008 - As 2008 comes to an end, I have to say it has been a successful year. I am 'almost' 50 pounds lighter than I was 2 years ago on Christmas. It depends on the day. The last couple of months, I have been taking it easy on tracking everything, and just trying to maintain between 265 - 269.

2009 Goals - Starting Jan. 1, 2009, I will be getting back to tracking on a regular basis. Trying to take off another 25-30 pounds this year. Looking forward to a great year!

March 2009 - I have recently joined a local TOPS group, and been elected leader. I'm hoping to inspire others and get some renewed motivation myself to help me continue on the weight loss journey. I have also been exercising with the Wii Fit since the beginning of the year, and am pretty darn proud of myself. It's been a long time since I have exercised on a consistent basis. I just bought My Fitness Coach for the Wii and some wrist/ankle weights to change up my routine a bit. I'm hoping that between the new TOPS group and me exercising, I will kick up my weight loss routine!

January 1, 2010 - I am starting the new year with renewed inspiration. I have been on 'diet vacation' for a couple of months, but am ready to get back at it. Tracking my food is key! I ended 2009 with an 11 pound gain for the year, but am confident that I can turn that around and hope for a loss this year!

1/1/11 - seem to be starting over. Starting to track my food as of today.

7/1/12 - on June 15, my daughter and I started a doctor supervised lifestyle modification program called First Line Therapy . It is a 1500-1600 calorie, modified meditteranian diet with what I like to call 'clean' eating, exercise, and stress mangement. My daughter is following a 1300 calorie gluten-free version of the plan. Since she has gone gluten free last year, she's lost almost 60 pounds and is looking really good. Sparkpeople is helping me by giving me an easy place to track my food and exercise and helps me stay motivated!

9/15/12 - After 3 months on our new lifestyle modification journey, my daughter and I have each lost 30 pounds. In the past, it would take me about a year to lose 30. So that's darn good for me. My daughter has lost a total of 75 pounds and looks marvelous, and has diverted any chances of diabetes for now! That was her main goal. As for my continuing goal, I plan to revisit my diet plan and see if I can't renew my inspiration as we head into the fall. I want to gear up for the next 90 days!

1/15/2018 - It's been a few years since I've actively tried to lose some weight, and track my food. I recently started (10/23/2016) an Anti-inflammatory diet by Dr. Christopher Valley in my Rheumatologists office. It's basically a modified Paleo diet, but I can eat dairy, beans, and some other things. Mostly gluten-free, but I must limit corn and white potatoes and rice. Also recommended was Tai Chi, starting with 5 minutes, sitting in a chair. I've found Jake Mace on youtube has some great beginning Tai Chi videos that I have been doing.

Thanks for the personal trainer. I hope my trainer will help keep me on track so I can lose this last hard bit of weight. I think the last few pounds are the hardest because I have had them the longest. Hope you have a great day.

Like you I am starting again. I came across an old TOPS weight book and in 2007 I weighed in as 190. I have been up to 215. Last week I was 192. I just need to lose those last 30 but I am still trying, emoticon
