Update 1st July 2018

It's been a number of years since I've been here.
Mum died in February this year and when the extension is built on the house Dad will move in with me. In the meantime he is in a home that is 10 minutes away.(he was diagnosed with Alzheimer's/vascular dementia in 2016).

ABI the dog died in 2015 but we got another rescue dog a couple of months later.. He's a Staffy cross called Buddy and will be 4 years old in August.


Update 26th December 2012

Not been on Spark for a while except to read a few blogs as I have been looking after my DH ( n
who died after a short spell in hospital on 7th Nov) and helping look after my mother after a fall.
I have decided I must lose the weight I have put back on in the last 12 months. I am now 172lb 10oz slightly up on my original weight.

Update 4th March 2011
Not doing too well due to problems with my right arm so not able to do much upper body so have just been walking mainly. This means I am not losing anything but will hopefully be able to get back to exercising soon.

Update 1st September 2010
Today I have decided to get back on the wagon and lose some more weight I hope to get down to 115lbs (the middle of my healthy BMI) by Xmas.

Update 16th July 20107
Have decided to try to maintain my weight around 144lbs (3lbs either way is acceptable) so 141 - 147lbs.

Update 8th April 2010
Went to Hampshire at the begining of March, before we went I had got down to 62kg and was back up to 65kg when we came back so had put on 6+lbs while we were away. Am now back to 63kg and am able to get in a pair of jeans I bought about 3 years ago, I hadn't actually worn them beacause I put weight on again after I bought them. Now they are getting a bit big so I have decided to stay around 63 - 64kg for a while and get a bit more toned before I try to lose anymore weight.

Update 4th January 2010
Prior to Christmas I weighed 64.6kg, this morning I weighed 66.4kg so over Christmas I have put on 1.8kg that's almost 4lbs but I did so enjoy New Year. Anyway it's now back to watching what I eat and doing the exercise.

Have changed to Kg because that is what the practice nurse uses.

Update 12th October 2009
I started going to the Gym at the beginning of September and am loving it. I try to go every weekday but have not been today as I have felt under the weather since having a Flu jab on Friday. I will go tomorrow but take it a little bit easier than usual and build myself up again.

Update 8/6/09
Have altered my goals slightly today which will give me a goal weight of 8st 1lb. Will see how I feel when I get there whether to lose some more or try to maintain that weight.

Update 5/6/09
Lost 6lbs to date must try harder. Had got down to 162 but am back to 166lbs after holiday.

Have yoyo dieted for years but am now determined to lose weight and eat healthier. I am 171lb 15oz at present and would like to lose 1 -2lbs a week. I think slow but sure will work better than a quick loss.

I live in Tyldesley just outside Manchester, England with my son Jim (35) and our dog Abi. Daughter Vicki (38) and her 12yr old cat named Topsy, lives a couple of miles away.


Other Information:
I enjoy James Pattersons novels, also Dan Brown and Tom Clancy. Like my son I have eclectic tastes in music which includes a variety of artists and styles.

    Hi Sheila, long time no visit - my apologies. Sorry to read on your page that your right arm is not well......... what did you do? Walking is a fab way of exercising, its one of my main forms of keeping fit. When the weather permits of course lol!

    I'm wishing you a get well soon, and hope to see you in July.

    Take care of your arm and now that spring has arrived, enjoy your walking!
