Me with my friend, Clara, taken 12 Feb 2010 (212 lbs.) I felt very self-conscious and uncomfortable.

(Updated: 29 July 2010)

I'm committed to living life to the fullest no matter what my weight. I am committed to getting healthy and staying that way. I am committed to being a weight that is good and healthy for me no matter what anyone else thinks.

In 2004 I was barely squeezing into a US size 20 (UK 24). I was 30 years old and felt about 70! Everything hurt and I was tired all the time. Not to mention really unhappy with my body. I knew I needed to do something about my weight, so through healthy eating and exercise I dropped 60 pounds in a year and a half.

Unfortunately, after going through a really challenging time in my life I've gained back nearly all of those pounds. I simply stopped paying attention to (or caring about) what I was eating and stopped nearly all my exercise except walking. I'm back up to a US 16/18 (UK 20) and really feeling it in my feet, knees and back. Why did I do that to myself?

My short term goal is to lose 10 pounds for my brother's wedding on 28 August 2010. I'm definitely moving in the right direction!

I'm back, getting refocused and motivated to drop another 35 pounds so I feel better, look better, and am healthier. I was happiest, healthiest and had the most energy at a UK size 16 (the equivalent of a US 12), so that's what I'm aiming for. For some, that may be too big, but for me that size is downright CURVALICIOUS!

My Goals:
Lose 10 pounds by 28 August 2010 for my brother's wedding.

I want to lose a totaly of around 2 1/2 stone (37 pounds), and be able to fit into a UK size 16 (US size 12). I love my curves, I just want a little less of them!

My Program:
I'm focused on cutting down on fat/sugar (I've got a sweet tooth the size of Texas.) and just eating healthier and being more active. I want to make it part of my lifestyle, not a "diet". I don't care if it takes six months, a year or more. This time I'm making it stick!

Personal Information:
I'm originally from Portland, Oregon in the USA, but have been living in London since 2006. LOVE it!

Other Information:
I once heard a quote: "Nothing tastes as good as being thin feels." I think it's total nonsense, because if it were true, it'd be easy to stay on track and eat healthy all the time. I believe in moderation in all things. Easier said than done! Yet I perservere!
