Spark People has been a huge help to me in finding healthier ways to live my life. I wish anyone who comes to my Sparkpage much success in your journey to a healthier lifestyle.

I am exercising and tracking my food here at Spark People. I am so happy to report that a back problem has gotten better, allowing me to exercise more and with less pain.

Water aerobics and biking are my favorite exercises.

1/16/15 I have lost 27 pounds so far and only one person has noticed it. This does not include the people who knew I was trying to lose weight. I am not discouraged, though. I can see the difference in my clothing and by summer, they will all notice the change.

2/9/16 Well, my plan didn't go the way I was hoping. Two bouts with a back injury resulted in physical therapy and many months that I could not exercise because of the pain. I have gained six pounds and am just now able to begin exercising slowly with rest days in between. It is frustrating, but I am trying to be patient. Today it felt wonderful to be able to walk outside in the fresh air.

I was never one who loved to exercise, but I am surprised how much better I felt when I did--and how much more sluggish I feel and how much more achy and stiff I feel when I can't exercise. I really am looking forward to feeling great again soon!

8/29/16 Another round of physical therapy and I am again able to exercise. But I MUST keep up the back exercises. Too bad they don't count much for burning calories!!! I have continued to gain weight and have noticed that I felt so much better at the lower weight, so that is my motivation to get back to that weight and then continue onward.

2/2/17 Happy Groundhog Day!!! We are in Florida for a month so I've been able to bike again. Will enjoy it until we head home to Wisconsin. Then it will be awhile before we can bike. Have to wait until the ice and snow melts. I love getting active again.

3/8/17 Happy to be home again! Now to begin again to lose the weight I've regained.

1. Get into the next tens. -Done

3. Lose 7% of body weight in NDPP.-Done

4.Get from obese to overweight.

5. Get into healthy weight range.

Lose weight to get healthier and get off medication.

Be positive and happy and surround myself with like people.

My Program:
Step one: I will begin slowly. I'm tracking my food and drinking the water.

Step two: Exercising
like biking, walking and water aerobics.

Step three: strength training

Personal Information:
Christian woman who enjoys being a Grandma, reading, camping and sewing (quilting) . I love to cook when I have time and have lots of cookbooks. I live in the Midwest.

Other Information:
My favorite book is "The Power of Positive Thinking" by Norman Vincent Peale. Also am in a book club and reading books I might otherwise not have read.

I enjoy authors like Karen Kingsbury, Debbie Macomber, Joyce Meyers. Francine Rivers.
