At age 53 I fulfilled my goal of becoming a certified Scuba Diver. Now, my weight loss goals are next. I am a 3 year uterine cancer survivor. I know that losing weight is important for keeping cancer away. January 2009 update: Have lost 30 pounds now and feel so much better. I just ordered a new wetsuit, booties and fins in my new size as a non-food reward. Next, I will need a smaller BC. What fun to go shopping for new things in a "normal" size again. Update March 2009: Have now lost 35.5 pounds. I feel so much better, healthier. Food issues are still hard some days. I am now trying to "get busy" when I have those urges to overeat.

My Goals:
1. To keep the weight off this time. I have been at my goal weight 3 times in the past 15 years and always gained it back within 2 years.

2. To journal and plan my meals for the rest of my life. In the past I had quit journalling and planning and that's how I regained the weight.

My Program:
I make a menu twice a week so I stay on a healthy eating plan. I do exercise video's 3 times a week. Now I have added strength training to my exercise routine.

Personal Information:
I live in Oregon. Love flower and vegetable gardening. We raise organic angus beef, have chickens for eggs, and raise our own chicken/fryers.

Other Information:
Scuba is my passion after many years of snorkeling. It took great courage to learn scuba, in fact I quit the class twice because of fear. I persisted for two years and finally made it through all the water tasks. Now after 60 dives I feel more confidant, calm and relaxed while diving.
