    What do you mean by sugar detoxing??? I can only assume that you are referring to the popular fallacy that removing sugar from you diet makes you pure or less toxic.

    From A scientific stand point, Sugar i.e blood sugar i. Glucose, keeps us alive. While it is possible to have toxic amount of sugar in the blood, we have built in systems that protect us from that occurrence. So, the notion that you can somehow "detox" sugar is just not scientifically sound.

    Now if you are referring to addiction, that is whole other area of neurology that is not well understood but many theories exist such as palatability and sugar, food reward, and controversy surrounding the vehicle of transportation (i.e food or liquid)

    In general, The same guidelines hold true for everyone those being reduce the amount fo caloric sweeteners in your diet. I might add that the context of the person in question is a factor here as well.
