I used to swear I would never go down the path of my mother as far as weight gain after high school. Lo and behold...being broke really never helps your waistline. Not eating really wrecks your waistline. So, now, I'm really sick of saying "I should" and it's time to get off of my literal butt. I've got a trip at the end of August where I'd like to be able to keep up on the hikes and my best friend's wedding at the end of October so it's better late than never, right?

My Goals:
I want to be healthier...I need to get down to a healthy weight. Aside from that, I want to be able to hike without limits, look great in my bridesmaid dress, and stop worrying about how I look in pictures!

My Program:
My biggest change has been eating breakfast. I have fruit smoothies with flax seed and spinach for breakfast every morning. I've also been making a lot of little changes...cutting out pop, drastically limiting my candy intake (and other sweets for that matter), and generally making healthier choices. I walk my dog and do simple but effective things for my workouts. I've been doing more house cleaning and actually forcing myself to go swimming (it's a better workout than simply walking, and it gets me more used to the water...maybe I'll actually be a strong swimmer one day!).

I'm from the Kansas City area, Missouri side and I write for a website called I also have a personal blog called The Tiddly Tales of AJ the Lush.

Other Information:
Aside from being a Science Fiction and Fantasy nerd, I like the World of Warcraft, hiking, dogs and animal right, mythology, camping, and wine and spirits.
