My beloved Schatzi. She passed on in 2016. God I miss her.

This is my late Maya. I miss her so much.

This is Rayna. We are finally connecting after a year. She bounced around before we rescued her.

Good morning? Or is it good night? I actually like sleeping, but I have rude neighbors who are noisy and I cannot sleep through the music and partying. Sigh. So I escape the bedlam by going out for a run at 2 or 3am... sadly they are still at it.

Hi- thanks for checking in. OMG, how to sum up the past year? Let's see...tried several different meds, on Wellbutrin now which is working well. Did an "intensive outpatient program" (three hours a day, five days a week, for a month or so) at the Anxiety Treatment Center, which was good but ended badly due to a crappy therapist. Haven't managed to get back to therapy since then (late August) but still trying. Last summer, told us he identified as gender neutral and wanted to be called Halloween, he identified as male. So Kate is now Jamie, and we're handling it though the grandparents are sadly not on board. But Jamie is doing WAY better than a year ago - only missing about one day of school a month, hasn't had a panic attack in forever, starting to make an effort to actually get out of his room on the weekend. Baby steps but we'll take it! -Erin

thanks for the comment. I don't know if you've been following my blog, but we have been working for MONTHS trying to get her to go to therapy, despite everyone around us saying that we just need to make her go. We are trying very very hard to get her to a place where she's willing, and it feels like she is starting to move in that direction...she deliberately left school early yesterday despite the fact that she had made a deal with us the day before that we'd have to talk therapy if she didn't do the whole day. So we feel like she is really moving in that direction. We don't want want to force her, for many reasons, but we can only let this drag out so long because it's been months.

Thank you for your comment on my blog about drinking little bottles of water. Glad you're getting plenty of water. Couldn't help but smile when you mentioned your mom drinking water like a camel.
