I am the mom of an 11 year old boy. He has become my motivation for improving my lifestyle choices. I have several health conditions that tend to impede my chances at success. But I figure that if I keep my spark of motivation close, I won't have to look to far for encouragement.

My Goals:
My goal is to be the best me that I can. I want to improve my health and especially the way that I feel physically. I have a number of health problems which make life difficult. I can't get rid of them but I can sure try to reduce their effect on me.

My Program:
My first step has been to change the way that I eat. I incorporated more fruits and vegetables into my diet. In doing so, I reduced the intake of unhealthy choices. It helped me lose 43lbs. Now I just have to start with a fitness program. Diet will only help you lose so much. You have to be active as well.

Personal Information:
I'm a 43 year old mom of an 11 year old boy. Up until I was in my early 30's, I was at a very good weight for my height. I ran into medical problems and all the medications that go with it and ballooned in weight up to 251lbs. I decided that my diet was going to change, if for no other reason than to just be healthier, and found that I was losing weight quite quickly. I decided that maybe if I actually tried to lose weight that I might actually look "not too bad" again. So here is my chance to give it a go and see where it leads. Who knows, maybe this time next year I will actually not mind wearing a bathingsuite.

Other Information:
I have recently found that I absolutely love contemporary dance. I wish that I had taken dance when I was younger. I however did not have the appreciation for it then that I have now.

    HaHa. Last week I had the mozzarella sticks at Sonic. 4 of them. And I logged them. Every day brings a new mental attitude for me. Today I was quite content with a Diet Coke (with a splash of vanilla). It was delicious. Then I went home and had the Turkey Lasagna I had made earlier in the week.

    BTW - The mozzarella sticks upset my tummy. No more of them. Sigh.
