Hey there, nice to meet you! I'm Kate from Kuwait, and I'm a sailor and a diver. Sometimes I'm also a primary school teacher, but I'm having time out now...

This blog is intended to be a place where I capture moments of my life, and some of my thoughts! Although I joined SP in 2007, I only started writing this blog when I started doing my Master's Degree in e-learning in AUtumn 2010.

Last year I had a bad accident. That cost me 4 days in ICU, three weeks on the ward, and a further three weeks confined to bed. Then I had to have my kidney removed. That cost another few weeks in bed. Then, when I got home from work every day, I'd fall straight asleep, till hubby woke me at 7pm for my dinner. So, no teaching for a while, I'll just concentrate on self-improvement. And that includes getting rid of the excess weight I gained last year!

I want to lose weight and get fit so I can hit the oceans looking great!

My Program:
Tracking my food and exercise daily, I aim to hit 50 sparkpoints a day, so this means I spend half an hour reading motivational articles.

Personal Information:
I'm from Rugby in the UK, but I have lived in Kuwait now for 15 years.

Other Information:
Toffee coated popcorn. Can't beat it!

    Had to go to a website to figure out how many pounds was in 10 kilos. You and I are starting with the same backward jolt, and for me that started at a place that was still overweight.

    I like Spark's emphasis on lifestyle rather than dieting.

    When you shred the cabbage and put it beside the noodles- how do you cook it or do you cook it? We have something that many people make in my area of the country - SW Penna - that combines cabbage and noodles- but it's cooked in so much butter it negates any calorie saving eating the cabbage with the noodles.
